Day 1 – A Fresh Start Congratulations on taking a BIG step to a better you. When you make big changes, you get big results! Day one is all about detoxing and changing your perception of what a meal should be. We all have ingrained ideas as to what a meal should look like and day one is all about re-training our brain to learn what a clean and wholesome meal actually is.

Take it Easy You may feel a little rough during the first day of the cleanse, especially if you are withdrawing from an addiction (caffeine, sugar, etc.). Take it easy, relax and follow the meal plan. DO NOT skip snacks! You will feel great in no time. This is NOT the time to be taking a spin class or long run. Taking your dog for a walk or some gentle yoga are good choices, but nothing at all strenuous.

Carrots: (bag of carrots, about 6 Garlic cloves: 2 Ginger root: 12 inches Onion: 1 small yellow Spinach: 1 medium bag or container, (4 cups)

Morning Gratitude Detox Tea

Serves 1

Ingredients water (amount to fill your favorite mug) 2 inches fresh ginger root grated juice of 1/4 lemon 1-2 Tablespoons raw honey dash cinnamon dash cayenne pepper Directions Place water and grated ginger in small saucepan. Fruit Infused Goddess Water On my honeymoon at the Four Seasons in Maui (I was spoiled rotten). I had my first experience with fruit infused water. I was hooked! I call it “goddess" water because well, it just makes you feel like a goddess! It's a fun, tasty way to stay hydrated and it looks pretty too! If you are on the go, Grab your favorite reusable water container (preferably glass) and add water, ice, and any combination mentioned below (or create your own.) Energy Balls

Serves 4

These energy balls pack a powerful punch and keep you going between meals and to take on the go. Ingredients Dried Cranberries and raisons or dried apricots, chopped ½-1cup 2-3 Tablespoons raw honey Chopped walnuts 1-2 cups Chopped Almonds ½ - 1 cup Coconut Oil 1TBSP Unsweetened Shredded coconut – Handful Directions Combine the ingredients and add just enough coconut oil (about a tablespoon) to make the dry ingredients stick together. Form balls out of the mixture and sprinkle with shredded coconut. Spicy Ginger Carrot Soup

Serves 2

This is one of my favorite soups from my favorite health food store! Ingredients: 2 Tablespoons coconut oil 1 small onion chopped 2 Tablespoons ginger, minced 2 garlic cloves, minced 1 teaspoon ground cumin 6 carrots, washed and chopped into 1/2 inch pieces 1 can coconut milk (12-14 oz) 1 cup vegetable broth 4 tablespoons fresh lemon juice Sea Salt and Black pepper

Instructions: 1. Heat coconut oil in a large saucepan over mediumhigh heat. 2. Add the chopped onions and sauté until tender 3. Add the ginger and garlic to the onions, and cook for another minute, careful not to burn the garlic. Add the cumin and stir well, cook 30 seconds 4. Add the chopped carrots and sauté for a few minutes, and then add the coconut milk and vegetable broth. 5. Lower heat to simmer and cook for 20 minutes, or until carrots are tender 6. Puree soup in a blender or with an immersion blender, if soup is too thick; add extra broth or coconut milk. 7. Add the desired amount of lemon juice and a little salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.

Mango Maddness Detox Salad Ingredients: 2 cups spinach 1/4 cup cilantro 1/2 ripe mango 1/2 avocado 1/8 cup sunflower seeds 2 Tablespoons fresh lime juice 1 Tablespoon olive oil 1/2 teaspoon sea salt 1/2 teaspoon maple syrup

Serves 1 Instructions: 1. cup mango and avocado and place in bowl 2. Add chopped cilantro, sunflower seeds, lime juice, olive oil, sea salt, and maple syrup. 3. stir and coat add spinach 4. Toss and serve
