WASHINGTON, D.C. BUS TRIP EXHIBITION ADVENTURE Join painters, photographers and art lovers for this one day bus trip to Washington, DC to visit art museums in the nation’s capital. Participants can view the permanent collections as well as any special exhibitions at the museums around the National Mall, including the National Gallery of Art, The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, The Sackler Museum of Asian Art, African Art Museum, and The American Indian Museum, Nearby are The American Art Museum & National Portrait Gallery and The Phillips Collection. Participants are also free to visit the museums of your choice, and explore exciting restaurants, shops and sights on your own. Date: Wednesday, May 13, 2015 Time: Depart at 8:00 am and arrive back in Hampton around 10:00 pm Meet at: Parking lot of Darling Stadium, adjacent to CHTAC Cost: $65 ($60 HAL members) Make checks payable to Hampton Arts- 4205 Victoria Blvd, Hampton, VA 23669, 727-1490 [email protected] 7:45 amMeet in parking lot of Darling Football Stadium- adjacent to CHTAC 8:00 amBus departs for D.C. 9:30 amBrief Stop at Ladysmith Rest Area. 11:00 am- Arrive at National Gallery of Art at East Wing Entrance- Group Photo 11:00-12:00- Tour museums on your own 12:00Lunch on your own or at cafeteria or upscale café inside National Gallery. 1:00-5:00- On your own to visit museums, etc. 5:00 pmMeet at Clyde’s Restaurant for Dinner or dine on your own 6:45 pmMeet at National Gallery at East Wing Entrance 7:00 pmBus departs for return trip home 8:30 pmBrief Stop at Ladysmith Rest Area. 10:00 pm- Bus arrives Darling Football Stadium Parking Lot

Other Museums include: African Art Museum- Free, Freer Gallery- Free, Sackler Museum of Oriental Art- Free, Textile Museum ($8), etc. A few Washington, DC Restaurants: From the National Mall, walk UP 7th Street to find: District Chophouse- Just north of the intersection of 7th and E Street (American Standard menu) Austin Grill- Turn left on E Street at 7th (Mexican fusion menu) Jaleo- Corner of 7th and E Street (Mexican fusion menu) Clyde’s- Corner of 7th and G Street- Meet here for supper at 5:00 sharp if you like (American Standard menu) Oyamel- Corner of 7th and D Street (Mexican fusion menu) For the more “adventurous” and pricey menu: Zaytinya- A little bit of a walk- At the corner of 9th and G Street (Lebanese fusion menu) Rasika- Right turn on D Street from 7th (Indian-American fusion menu) Some famous people eat here, but more pricey.
