Wild Maths Our Y5 and Y6 Gifted and Talented mathematicians have been invited to take part in a special Cambridge University maths project. They are using the ‘Wild’ maths website. Netball Tournament On Wednesday, our netball team finished as runners up in the Sleaford and District netball tournament. Well done netballers.

SCIENCE SP0T Celebrating excellent science work in Year 3: In our Good Work Assembly this week, Kelly A in Mrs Stonestreet’s class, shared her amazing science work, explaining how different rocks are formed and showing her beautifully presented diagrams in her topic book. Kelly explained: “When lava from a volcano cools down, it turns into hard igneous rock, this is a piece of igneous rock which was formed from lava from a volcano in Iceland.” Her diagram showing the formation of sedimentary rock showed clearly how layers of material build up and how the bodies of fish can become buried and over time, form fossils.
Lincoln Castle Year 1 visited Lincoln Castle on Thursday. They tried on real armour. Mrs Cook was very pleased with their behaviour. Defibrillator Training On Tuesday, our main First Aiders refreshed their defibrillator training. Our defibrillator is kept in the front office. Spelling Challenge Look at each month of the year. Mad Science Club: There has been a fantastic response to the Mad Science assembly last week and lots of people wanting to sign up for the after school club. The on-line booking for the club is now over-subscribed and we have another long list of children wanting to take part who have signed up at school. If you haven’t yet returned the reply slip, bring it in to school and DNA David and his colleagues will organise the budding scientists into groups. The club will be held in the new hall.
