Sedimentation Shaft THE WATER WAY OF URBAN WELL: Guiding Water & Pedestrians to Rosslyn’s Riverfront

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The skybridges of Rosslyn’s past rejected the topography of the site by elevating pedestrians. The Water Way of the Urban Well celebrates Rosslyn’s rich topography as a means of guiding people by the movement of water through Rosslyn’s dense urban core to its burgeoning riverfront. Water captured from streets and sidewalks in the steeply elevated neighborhoods flows in Water Ways that converge at the Urban Well, an area of intersection of people and a place of purification of water. Water and people emerge from the Urban Well into the open revitalized riverfront.
