Ways To Give Back This Holiday Season In our region, many families face overwhelming situations that leave them feeling invisible and alone. The Salvation Army stands as a reminder that God is whith them in the midst of their circumstances and suffering. Our officers, staff and army of volunteers live this mission by doing the most good for those in the most need at Christmastime and all year long. Join us, here’s how:
Ring the Bell
Volunteer to ring in the Christmas season at a kettle location. Ring as an individual, a family, a company, a school, a team or a church. We have a variety of convenient locations and times. This is an ideal volunteer opportunity for teens to meet their community service hours. Sign up here: Bit.Ly/BeABellRinger
Host one or all of these at your organization!
Red Kettles
Outside Kettles and Mini Red Kettles Your business could host an outside kettle, or a mini kettle (small countertop kettle) near your cash register or reception area. For sponsoring, we will post your group or company name at the kettle to show your support of those in need in our community. Make it a group or office event by signing members up to ring at your sponsored outside kettle. You may sponsor for any amount of time throughout our bell-ringing season. Paper Kettle Campaigns Our Paper Kettle program at the point of sale for your business offers your customers a convenient way to donate to The Salvation Army, especially during the peak holiday season. Paper kettles can be purchased for $1 or $5, visibly displaying the donor’s name. Food and Toy Drives You may sponsor a toy drive or a food drive with your coworkers during the holiday season. The proceeds from these drives will be distributed to less fortunate children and families to brighten their Christmas.

Angel Tree
Adopt a Family
Host an Angel Tree for customers, clients or employees to purchase gifts for specific children and teens in need in your area. The program is simple: The Salvation Army provides Angel Tree tags to be hung on your Christmas tree. Donors can choose a tag that lists various ages and gift wishes and purchase the requested gifts, drop them at a pre-determined collection site and The Salvation Army will deliver the gifts for the children and teens to open on Christmas morning. The Salvation Army provides you with information on a family, including number and ages of children, as well as their needs and wants for Christmas. You and your family, class, or coworkers divide up these needs and make miracles happen by providing gifts for Christmas morning. The Salvation Army will deliver the items to the family on your behalf.
