Senior Hydropower Engineer / Project Manager (100%) based in Jakarta, Indonesia In this role you will be responsible for developing and managing south pole group’s pipeline of small hydropower projects in Indonesia in the new and exciting field of impact investments. You will guide new project leads from the technical due diligence up to commissioning while maintaining a strong interaction with our internal finance team, external consultants and contractors. This challenging position requires an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial and analytically skilled professional with significant experience in developing hydropower plants in Indonesia.
Tasks and responsibilities Hold the overall project management responsibility of south pole group’s hydropower investment activities in Indonesia. Such tasks include: Evaluate completeness of technical documents of mini-hydro power plants, such as feasibility study document, detailed engineering design, soil test results, permits, power purchase agreement, etc. Conduct initial technical due diligences of small hydro power plants by assessing the quality and reliability of provided project documents; If not done by project owner, identify and contract consultants to conduct a detailed due diligence on hydro power plant investment prospects; Asses the due diligence from external consultants critically; Identify and negotiate quotes from EPC contractors and reviewers for the construction and commissioning of small hydro power plants; Liaise with SPG’s finance team throughout the process to evaluate the optimal technical and financial option; Supervise independent review of hydro-power construction and commissioning process undertaken by contractors Grow a Jakarta based hydropower engineering team
Your profile
University degree in civil engineering or other relevant engineering degree Proven track record in bringing hydropower projects from an initial lead to final commissioning Minimum 8 years experience in: o Assessing/Conducting due diligences of mini hydro power plants; o Supervising the construction and commissioning of mini hydro power plant; Good network among the EPC contractors for civil work in Indonesia Willingness to travel within Indonesia Accurate and analytical abilities
