We Assist, You Assist Challenge Let’s make every assist count for the community
California Women’s Basketball invites you to partner with us and enact a program that will bring much needed help to deserving local families. The “We Assist, You Assist” Challenge asks you to pledge a dollar amount of your choosing toward each assist recorded throughout the 2006-07 season. The funds raised by this program will be donated to two organizations that are close to the heart of Cal Women’s Basketball. The team dedicates its time on a monthly basis to both the Lockwood Elementary School in East Oakland and the Quarter Meal Program, a part of the Berkeley Food & Housing Project. Every dollar raised up to $10,000 will be matched by an equal donation from Head Coach Joanne Boyle.
How you can assist Please join Cal Women’s Basketball and your fellow fans in supporting these two worthy local institutions. Any amount you pledge will help make a difference to the children and adults in local the community.
About “Quarter Meal” Program About Lockwood Elementary The “Quarter Meal” program at Berkeley Food & Housing Project provides a nutritious evening meal to about 100 individuals five nights a week. Dubbed the “Quarter Meal” because it used to cost only a quarter to provide the program.
Lockwood Elementary School has been educating East Oakland children for 100 years. The school’s mission is to nurture the intellectual, social and creative capabilities of each child, making the learning environment as collaborative student-centered and stimulating as possible.
