Cold Weather Policy: If the official Alpharetta, GA temperature according to www.weather.com is forecasted to be 32 degrees or lower at the time of the scheduled training or game, the activities are subject to cancellation at ARPD’s discretion. If the temperature reaches 25 degrees, it is mandatory the activity or event be cancelled. This applies to all Recreational League, Academy, and Select League players and teams.

Heat Related Policy: The City of Alpharetta Recreation and Park recommends that these guidelines be followed for activities during times of extremely high heat and/or humidity. If the official Alpharetta, GA temperature according to www.weather.com is forecasted to be 95 degrees or higher at the time of the scheduled training or game, it is recommended that the scheduled event be cancelled. Practices and games should be held early in the morning and/or later in the evening to avoid times when environmental conditions are generally more severe. An unlimited supply of water shall be available to participants during practices. Coaches/Instructors shall inform all participants that water is always available or accessible, and they will be given permission anytime he/she asks for water. Give adequate rest periods. These guidelines are to be applied to all practices/outdoor activities that take place on park property. Under 84: Normal activities with at least three rest breaks each hour.

85-88: Use discretion. Three breaks per hour and monitor participants and allow longer breaks. 89-91: Maximum practice time is two hours. 92-94: Maximum practice time is one hour. 95 and over: No outdoor activities are allowed for any sports. Practices must be delayed until a cooler temperature is reached.

Coaches can cancel activities at their own discretion, with exception to games. Please understand that any coaches who disregard this policy will be subject to immediate disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion. We ask everyone for their cooperation as we strive to make Alpharetta Parks a fun and safe environment for our children and families.
