WEDNESDAY AFTER SCHOOL SKI & SNOWBOARD PROGRAM Grades 4-5 join your friends and our crew of certified Crabbe Mountain ski and snowboard instructors for fun on the snow this winter. The Crabbe Mountain Wednesday After School Ski & Snowboard Program is a unique, six week full service program which focuses on skill development, learning and FUN! This is an excellent way for your child to continue an active lifestyle during the winter months. Snow School instructors will greet the children at designated Anglophone West District schools. The instructors supervise the students on the bus, at the ski area and on the ride back. They then stay with the students until they are picked up by parents at the designated drop-off areas. ****We may require a school staff or parent volunteer to wait with students until the bus arrives at some selected schools as we may not have instructors to be able available to travel to every school. This would just be meeting the children as they are dismissed and gathered in an area within the school with the children until the bus arrives. Dates: Starting January 9th, 2019 to February 13th, 2019 with February 20th and February 27th as make-up dates if there are any cancellations. If program goes pass the two cancellation dates, another date will be set. Please note: There will be NO REFUNDS if your child misses a day or is unable to participate on cancellation date(s). We encourage you to register as soon as possible as there will be only 110 students accepted and this is a very popular program. Cost: $315.00+hst = $362.25 Includes: Ski/Snowboard rental, helmet (mandatory), lift ticket, approximately 3 hours of instruction per week, as well as supervised bussing to and from Crabbe Mountain. (*Please note there is no discounted price for those who have their own season pass or equipment.)
Pick- Up & Drop Off Times & Places Pick-up time: Between 11:45am and 12:45pm depending on school dismissal times. Children will be supervised during this period. School pick up locations: Bus #1 – Royal Rd, Nashwaaksis Memorial, Park St, Gibson-Neil Elementary, Connaught St, Montgomery St. School
Bus #2- New Maryland Elementary, Liverpool, Priestman Street, Garden Creek School and Kingsclear Consolidated School. ****Subject to change with confirmation of numbers from each school. Drop-off time: (Parents must be waiting for child at this time.) Bus #1- 6:00pm at Park St Elementary School (For all NORTH side schools) 6:20pm at Montgomery St School, (For Montgomery and Connaught schools) Bus #2- 6:00pm at Garden Creek School; ( for Kingsclear Consolidated School, Garden Creek students) Bus#2-6:15pm at Priestman Street School; ( for Priestman St School, New Maryland Elementary, Liverpool Street) Students must bring a lunch to be eaten on the bus, or before while waiting for the bus to arrive. Cafeteria snacks may be purchased at Crabbe Mountain only after instruction due to time restrictions. Instructors will not be responsible for carrying student’s extra spending money. Students must have their own ski pants, warm jacket, warm ski gloves, hat and warm dry socks. Ski goggles would be an asset. As well, students may bring their own ski/snowboard equipment on the Trius bus, however parents should contact the school to confirm they can bring their gear to school. Keep in mind, students are not allowed to take skis/snowboards on Anglophone West District school busses to school in the morning. If a student is being picked up by a non-family member, a note must be written by the parent/guardian to the Principal and the Crabbe Mountain staff. All students will return on the bus unless a note is presented by the School Administrator. This is for safety concerns. The Wednesday After School Program will be postponed on Days that children’s regular school is cancelled or if a possible storm could affect driving conditions at the time of return for the bus from Crabbe Mountain. The school will be contacted the morning of such an event. Days that are missed due to storm cancelations will be made up for further in the season.
