Week 3 & 4 : Theme Adaptation and Transformation Arrival Activities Dynamic Movements Dribbling Patterns -players dribble through the cones then accelerate and run with the ball to end point • two touches with the outside of the foot only alternating feet after the second touch (baby toe to baby toe, big toe to big toe, Big toe to Baby toe)

Technical Repetition Coach plays a ball into the middle of the grid. One player from each team sprints to retrieve the ball. The player the who wins the ball tries to run with the ball into one of four gates. Use the surfaces of the foot from Arrival Activity.

Technical Awareness Activity Retrieve the ball then Finish • Coach calls out the # of players who are to retrieve the ball then attempt to finish(1v1, 2v2, 3v3 etc.) • Defender attempts to win the ball then score on opposite goall • Give one point for the ball going into the goal • Give three points for ball hitting the back of the net in the air

Small Sided Games Free play with rewards • Two goal two teams • Point can be given for players who can run with the ball past a defender • Point for scoring a goal • Point for scoring a goal with the ball hitting the back of the net in the air(No Toes)

Coaching Points Players need to stay balanced and controlled Teach the proper patterns of movements They never stop Go from one movement into the next Move the ball from surface to surface

Teach putting body between defender and the ball Focus on using surfaces from arrival activity to go away from defender and proper technique while running with the ball (Toes pointed down, moving the ball forward with the laces of the boot) Angle body depending on which foot the player is using to run with the ball Change pace to separate from defender Make players keep score for themselves Make sure the player use the technique from above Change pace to separate from defenders When finishing they can use anything other than the toes to finish Move as fast a possible

Encourage players to run with the ball as much as possible Use technique from above to maintain possession and to beat defenders(penetrate) Complement quality technique Correct incorrect technique Make coaching point in the run of play verses stopping the play
