Go around the group and read the verses provided in the Vintage Jesus Study Guide for this lesson. What feelings arise in you when hearing these verses read aloud? Think about how Mark described Hell for the non-Christian. How does this differ from what you had previously believed? After hearing this teaching, do you believe society makes it easier or more difficult to believe such a teaching? Why? Consider the argument of fairness. How would you respond to a person who says to you God is unfair to send to Hell people who a) live in the jungle and died prior to hearing the Gospel b) were upstanding, moral citizens who always did the right thing but never believed Jesus c) believed in God but not in Jesus?
