The Construction Management Career Fair is a unique opportunity to meet with companies interested in connecting with students interested construction management. Meet employers and network to learn about full-time, co-op, or internship opportunities, and come prepared for same-day interviews. Prepare for the career fair with networking advice, resume and cover letter workshops, and participate in mock interviews-all offered by Career Services. Whether you are in your first year and just want to explore and see how it all works, or if you are about to graduate and need a full time position-this event is for you! Event Breakdown Event location: Chumash Auditorium, Building 65 9:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. network with employers 12:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m. employer and student networking luncheon* 1:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. interviews-candidates selected by employers *The first 50 students will receive a free catered lunch and additional networking time with employers. Before the Fair: Strategize & Research 1. Research Employers 2. Apply for internship or jobs posted 3. Tailor your Resume 4. Prepare your Pitch & Practice At the Fair: Prioritize & Connect 1. Bring your resume 2. Dress professionally 3. Visit your top 5-10 companies After the Fair: Follow-up 1. Write it down 2. Send a thank you note or email. Sustainability Task Force is a group seeking to enhance Cal Poly’s EWB Chapter through working on projects related to socio, economic, cross-generational and environmental sustainability. We want to ensure that our chapter is fulfilling its purpose of “equipping leaders to solve some of the world’s most pressing challenges”. The STF meets at 6pm every Monday in Building 10, room 225. 2. Project Meetings will be every Monday from 7:00-9:00pm! Here are the team room locations: EWB Crash Course: Building 10 courtyard Fiji: 10-225 Local Projects: 33-289 Thailand: 10-227 Nicaragua: 10-124 Malawi: 38-227 2. Introducing the new EWB Crash Course designed for new members who want to learn about EWB and which teams and positions work best for them! The EWB Crash Course is optional and is held during project team meetings from 7:00-9:00pm on Mondays for the first 6 weeks of this quarter. This week we are meeting in the same rooms as last week: Nathan & DJ and Cayley’s Groups: 53-215 Dan and Payton’s Groups: 53-206 Jess and Carolina’s Groups: 33- 287 3. General Meeting! Join us for free pizza this Wednesday 6-7:30, building 10-225 to learn about how EWB plays a key role in international development! We’ll be sharing our experiences from this year’s National EWB-USA Conference and discussing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), the global goals for sustainable development. IMPACT, Engineers Without Borders’ volunteering team, works with nonprofits across San Luis Obispo County to carry on the tradition of thinking globally and acting locally. IMPACT organizes volunteering events that unite EWB members and fellow Cal Poly students with local nonprofits dedicated to the community EWB Cal Poly knows and loves. In addition to future volunteering events, IMPACT is looking forward to building long term relationships in the community through a partner program between nonprofits and EWB project teams. 5. Volleyball IMs Thursday Nights at 7:30pm-8:30pm Come support our chapter by signing up on our roster below or cheering for the rest of us on the court!
