Oct. 6: Dallas Baptist Partiots

The Pioneers will host Dallas Baptist in a non-conference game on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 7:00 p.m. This is the second meeting against the Patriots this season. TWU will resume its Lone Star Conference schedule on Thursday, Oct. 8 at Abilene Christian and then face Angelo State on Saturday, Oct. 10.

TWU AT A GLANCE XXX The Pioneers posted a 3-0 last week at the St. Mary’s/Incarnate Word Tournament. TWU, the only undefeated team in the tournament, defeated three Heartland Conference teams including the hosts St. Mary’s and Incarnate Word. The Pioneers came from behind in all three games. On the season Harlan leads the team on offense with 158 kills and 194.5 points and second in digs with 194. Senior Jessica Crow is the team leader in assists with 415 while Coulson is the leader on defense with a team-best 333 digs. Osborne is the top blocker for TWU with 58 total blocks.

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS XXX

F TWU opened the season with 3-0 loss to Hillsdale before defeating CSU-Pueblo, 3-0, on Aug. 28 at the Marriott Invitational hosted by UC-Colorado Springs. F Junior Kendra Coulson was named to the all-tournament team at the Marriott Invitational after posting 60 digs and a tournament-best 5.0 digs per set in four games. F The Pioneers made their home debut with a 3-0 victory over Southern Arkansas in the TWU Tournament on Sept. 4. F Sophomore Katelyn Osborne was named to the all-tournament team at the TWU Tournament. In four games she recorded 18 block assists and 25 kills. F Coulson posted 66 digs in four games at the Tarleton TexAnn Invitational and was selected to the all-tournament team. F The Pioneers defeated Texas A&M-Kingsville in four sets to pick their first conference win of the season. Osborne had a careerhigh 16 kills while sophomore Hayley Summers recorded a career-high 18 digs.
