REMINDER! Football Uniform THUNDER 06 Vs ACC 06 Sizing:

Another nail biting game right down to the final seconds! As we continue to get better, other teams do too. The Vikings were a good football team coached by good coaches. Again it took our offense a little bit to wake up and get the ball moving. The Vikings struck first but, our defense held up big and stopped them from getting the extra point. Making the score 6-0 and putting a little pressure on our offense to get something going, We responded big with a touchdown our entire offense made possible by doing their jobs. At half time the score was 6-6 and it stayed that way the entire half. With both defenses clicking and both offenses trying to find that big play the ball went back and forth many times through out the half. Nobody every found the end zone making the final score 6-6. A great game by EVERYONE who played.

REMINDER! Football Uniform THUNDER 07 Vs ACC 38 Sizing:

As the scores shows, it was definitely a tough one. We faced arguably the best team we are going to face all year but we never quit. We fought to the end and wound up being the first team to score on them this season. With that said, they were not 31 points better than us if they even were better than us. The 31 point deficit came at the expense of our own mistakes. Offensively, we would get on track by making a big play/positive run and on the ensuing play, fumble, get a penalty, or have a negative play. In order to be successful, we have to perform consistently and eliminate mental mistakes because they were not out playing us. We just were not playing to our full potential. Defensively, we faced a quarterback that was VERY talented and receivers that could catch the ball. They were not better than us either on offense, but we did not align correctly on numerous plays which in turn did not allow us to execute correctly. We will be ready for the next time we see them! This is what makes football so special because just as you think you reached the top, it humbles you and knocks you right back down…

…and you have to find a way to keep fighting and bounce back. You cannot cheat the grind (hard work). It knows how much you have invested and it won’t give you anything you have not worked for. Coming off a 33-0 shutout against East Stroudsburg South, we thought we were on top but then, as the score from Sunday displays, we were very wrong. As coaches and players, we cannot be satisfied with one win or the way in which we won. Every day we either get better or we become worse but we never stay the same. Winners embrace the hard work. They love the discipline of it, the trade-off they’re making to win. Losers see it as a punishment. We have to start embracing the process it takes to win games! Once we do that, that’s when the magic starts to happen.

130’s Game Results THUNDER 31 Vs ACC 00 Well, it was truly the toughest test so far this season. The Vikings came out hitting hard and then take in the suppressive heat, our little guys showed allot of character throughout the game. As a coach, you always want your players to do their best, and sometimes you forget it is only a game. My halftime speech addressed the lack luster performance in the first half and the fact we were only up 6-0. The speech motivated the team and true to their character, they put up 25 unanswered points in the second half winning the game 31-0. I know, I speak for all the coaches in saying how proud we are of this team. A team that continues to grow together to become one. One unit, with one goal, to make everyone on this team better. In every game you see players getting better, getting stronger, feeling more confident in themselves and believing in each other, this is a solid team, a team to be proud of. More 130s offense includes dragging the ACC defenders over the Thunder goal line for another TD

It is back to work on Tuesday, as we draw up our game plan for the PV Bears this week. I know we can expect them to be more prepared, as it is always a tighter game after playing your opponent a second time. This will be a big day for the Bears as it is their homecoming and Graduation ceremony. The games will be moved up an hours so, please listen for the updated times. Have a great week! Wow, Thunder 130s show how points are added with a passing PAT into the end zone

Due to some technical difficulties our photos of last weeks games are limited. However, we still wish to give a big shout-out and thank you to our dedicated sideline photographer Rusty von Schwedler! Your photos add great content to the weekly newsletter and we thank you for the contributions!
