Fun Apple Facts!!
Things you may not know about our favorite fall fruit: • The crabapple is the only apple native to North America. • Apples are a member of the rose family. • It takes 36 apples to create one gallon of apple cider. • In colonial times, apples were called winter bananas. • The science of growing apples is called pomology. • Most apples are still picked by hand. • Apples are fat, sodium and cholesterol free • The largest apple picked weighed three pounds.

The whole month of September we will be celebrating the APPLE. We will learn about the different types. Ways to cook them and share in meals using APPLES!!
