YEAR 9 OPTIONS EVENING TUESDAY 27th FEBRUARY 2018—6.00 pm Students in Year 9 will soon be asked to make their option choices of GCSE courses for 20182020. In order to launch this process, we will be running an Options Evening for all parents of Year 9 students to provide information and guidance about the process. The Options evening will take place on Tuesday 27th February at 6.00pm. we are keen to ensure that all parents have the date firmly fixed in their diaries. On the evening, Mr Bamford will explain the options process and present the choices in the options booklet. This will be available on the school website, from Monday 26th February, your son / daughter will have been given a hard copy of the booklet prior to the options evening. Although this is an event ostensibly for parents, please feel free to bring your sons and daughters along, as we are sure that they too will find the evening to be very useful. Year 10 Mock Exams: Y ear 10 students w ill have received their statem ent of entry for the Year 10 mocks exams today which start w/c 5th March 2018. Please ask to see it. Year 10 Mocks provisional timetable attached. An assembly will be held on Thursday 1th March (tbc) during which final details will be covered and students will receive a package with all relevant documents. Year 11 Statement of Entries for Summer 2018 GCSE Exams: Year 11 students received their Statement of Entry recently for this summer’s GCSE exams. If reply slips have not been returned and you do have data changes or queries, please return by Tuesday next week 13th February latest as entry submissions will be made during that week. Any queries should be addressed to the relevant subject teacher in the first instance, otherwise, please contact me via email. Amendments can still be made until early March (OCR) and early April (AQA/Pearson) but penalties will occur after those dates. Year 11 GCSE English—details of the revision sessions are attached. UNIFORM: There is a large am ount of 2nd Hand Uniform available for sale in the front office, please call in and have a look. We cannot accept any more uniform to sell currently (unless it is PE kit) as we have no where to store it. Wallingford Children's Film Festival
Would your children like a Half-term project or challenge? How about making a film for the Film Festival? Entries can be made by individuals or groups of friends. All films must be less than 4 minutes in length and can be in any format and on any subject. Completed films need to be sent either on DVD to The Treehouse School, 37 Walingford Rd, Cholsey or email:
[email protected] by the end of Half Term. Please include name, age and contact details. If you have any questions please email Paul. The film festival will then take place on Saturday 10th March at 4pm in the Great Hall, Cholsey Meadows where the audience will vote for their favourite film.
