Answer True or False; The deadliest war is the one most of us never realize is being waged. . . until it’s too late and the casualties have piled up.

3. Garbage trucks have back-up beepers. How could you install a back-up beeper on your gods to warn you when you are tempted to worship and bow to them? How could we install a warning system for when we cross the line toward unholy homage to one of those pesky gods?

4. (1b) Discuss some practical steps a person could take (or, perhaps that you have already taken) to choke out the voice/ power of modern day gods like, money, sex, power, food, etc.? 5. What does it mean to ‘Delight in the Lord’?

Upcoming Events Meet the Pastor | Today | Join us after each service for Meet the Pastor in the chapel. This is a simple meet & greet to meet the staff as well as ask any questions about the vision and programs at First Baptist.  Picture Sunday | Ever had trouble putting a name to a face when you meet someone in the lobby? We are here to help. Today we will be taking pictures in the lobby for our online directory. If you need a login just contact offi[email protected]. Giving Tree | Looking for for an opportunity to help someone this Christmas? Pick a tag off the Giving Tree to help a child in our community or to visit a Senior from our church. Make sure to leave the bottom portion of the tag at the Giving Tree table. Gifts are due back in the church office no later than December 15th. Holiday Service Opportunities | The holidays are a great time for individuals and families to serve those less fortunate than themselves. Stop by the lobby to check out all the service opportunities available. Some of the opportunities include Rake up Boise, painting a room at the Women’s and Children’s Alliance and at the Boise Rescue Mission. Engage | Want to connect to people? Want to find out where you fit at First Baptist? Join us for this 2-hour interactive small group setting focusing on what it means to be a part of God’s church in an extraordinary way. Sunday, November 17th from 4 pm - 6 pm in the Chapel. Quarterly Parent Newsletter | Starting this fall the Family Ministry will be sending out a quarterly parent newsletter. If you are interested in receiving this newsletter, mark or write your email address on the connection card and write parent newsletter and we will add you to our list. Over the Counter Medicine | The First Baptist Medical Mission Team will be providing health care to the impoverished sugarcane workers and their families in the rural villages of the Dominican Republic this December.  They are requesting donations for over-the-counter medicine and/or monetary support for the purchase of these items. For a detailed list stop by the information booth. American Baptist Women | All church women are invited to the ABW Thanksgiving program. Guest speaker: Tori Burchfield, FBC’s Missions Coordinator. She will be speaking about her mission trip to Beirut, Lebanon. Bring your sack lunch - coffee and tea will be provided. Wednesday, November 20th at 12 pm in the Chapel.
