WELCOME TO GOOD SAMARITAN

GROW IN FAITH. LIVE IN HOPE. SHARE GOD'S LOVE.

We welcome all guests to Good Samaritan. Please take a moment to fill out the pew card and place it in the offering plate or give it to an usher. Following the service, please join us for Coffee Hour in Henslee Hall and pick up a newcomer’s information packet. We have assisted listening devices for those who have trouble hearing during the service. Please look for them in the narthex or ask one of the ushers for assistance. We also have large print copies of the Book of Common Prayer for those who need them. Childcare is available at 8:30 am & 11 am. Children are welcome to attend the church service; activity packs are available. Out of respect to fellow worshippers, please take restless children to the chapel in the back of the church. Most of the service can be heard in the chapel area. If desired, childcare is provided for infants and toddlers (age 2 and under) in the nursery downstairs. Preschool/Kindergarten Chapel (3 years old–K) begins downstairs at 9:45 am. Children in grades 1–4 begin worship with their parents, then follow the cross out for Children’s Chapel after the Gospel reading. Children’s Chapel will return at the offertory to join their families for communion. Preschool Chapel returns at communion time. Children in the nursery (age 2 and under) may be picked up for communion or immediately after the service.

TODAY - It's time for the Annual Casserole Sale! From 9:30 until everything is gone, our youth will be selling homemade casseroles, goodies and treats to raise funds for the 2016 Mission Trip & other youth projects. Check out all the yummy things in Henslee Hall and take something home! We will have our next round of Spiritual Conversations TODAY after the 11:00 service (at approximately 12:30 pm). We will have a simple lunch and continue our spiritual conversations pointing us in the direction of "Why?" Why do we come to church? Why Good Sam? For this conversation you might be thinking about who is good news for you? Who has pointed you in the direction of God? We’re looking forward to the conversation. Due to waning attendance over the past few years, there will be no Thanksgiving Day service on Thursday, November 26 this year. Next Sunday, November 29, which is the 1st Sunday in Advent, Good Sam is planning an Intergenerational Wreath Making event. Come and join us during Sunday School hour and make your own family advent wreath! Please bring greenery - holly, magnolia leaves, boxwood, etc., from your yard to share. Oasis wreath forms, candles & other materials will be provided. Look for more information in the weekly e-newsletter, LOGOS and on the website. ALSO! – don’t forget to wear BLUE – the liturgical color of the season. Don’t forget to bring in your items for the Shoebox Ministry and Stuff-a-Stocking Projects. A list of needed items can be found in the columns to your right. We will assemble these intergenerational projects at 9:45 am on Sunday, December. 6 in Henslee Hall. Finally! – Check out the bulletin board in the hallway outside the church offices. You’ll find a lot of great information about things going on at Good Sam during the coming Advent Season. Make it a habit of checking the board, as information may be posted there that doesn’t get printed in the bulletin, LOGOS or the e-newsletter. Special thanks goes to the Slattery family for getting the new bulletin board installed and thanks to Bob for building the new nametag board.
