W E LCO M E T O G R A N G E R K I D S MEET YOUR AREA COORDINATORS Ann Blanchard - Galaxy
Ann volunteered with Granger Kids for 13 years and has now been on staff in the Galaxy room for four years, and is also a trained paralegal. She has a heart for building a spiritual foundation in the early elementary years. If you ask her why she does what she does, she says, “This is such an inquisitive age for the six and seven-year-old children in the Galaxy room. When they are hearing and learning the lessons in the Bible and virtues from the curriculum and asking questions, it’s so awesome to see their faces and hearts changing when they believe and trust Jesus as their forever friend.”
Sheila Beeson - Galaxy
Sheila has served children all of her adult life and has volunteered serving kids at Granger Community Church since 1986! She has a background in nursing and loves helping children grasp how much they matter to God. If she could share one thing with the families who come to the Galaxy room, it’s this: “You are the one who models how to live a life with Christ at the center. No one else will get your child to the places and people they will need to learn and grow toward Jesus. Your priorities will be seen by your children. Make the time you have them under your influence count.”
WH Y SHO ULD I S E N D MY C H I L D T O GR AN GE R K I D S E V E RY W E E K ? With your busy schedule, this is a legitimate question to ask, and I’m glad you did. There are three main things that we are offering that kids today are NOT getting anywhere else. First, we offer a relationship with someone not in their family that is safe, can be trusted and will speak truth about God to them in a loving way. Second, we are committed to helping kids take their next steps toward Christ together in a way that they will understand, enjoy and be able to use in their real life right away! Wait…there’s more! Third, we are unashamedly FOR families, in fact, it is strategic in all that we do. We understand that there is no greater influence on the spiritual development of a child than their family—whatever your family looks like. Our hope is that we can get these two great institutions (i.e., the family and the church) aligned in purpose and mission so that together, we can “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6) We call that thinking Orange. Orange = Unconditional love of the family (
) + light that comes from the church community of faith (
)
In today’s culture more than ever, kids need a connection to others that can reinforce what is being taught in the home, other leaders that kids can learn to trust and seek practical wisdom from. So we are going to be intentional about doing just that!

W HAT AR E T H E Y L E A R N I N G ? Great question! Though our programming always involves stories from the Bible, life application activities and live worship, much of the content is anchored by these core, basic truths: Elementary: • I need to make the wise choice. • I can trust God no matter what. • I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
Preschool: • God made me. • God loves me. • Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
