Message for Parents -Transportation -Sportsmanship -Please do not approach a coach before or after a contest. -If there is a question about playing time, the player needs to be the first one to initiate the conversation with the coach, after this conversation if the parents need to be involved, that is the point at which a meeting with coach/parents/athlete can take place.
Message for Student-Athletes These characteristics require zero talent: -Being On Time -Having a Good Work Ethic -Putting forth Great Effort -Having Positive Body Language -Being High Energy -Having a Positive Attitude -Being Passionate -Being Coachable -Doing Extra -Being Prepared
Message for Student-Athletes Characteristics of being a Great Teammate: -You’re willing to play any role that helps the team -You would rather score less and win than score a lot and lose -When a teammate scores, you celebrate with them -You respect your opponents but do not fear them -You listen; you are coachable; and you are respectful of your coaches, teammates, opponents, and officials -You are quick to pick up a teammate who is having a bad day -You help younger teammates who have less experience -You learn and grow from your own mistakes as well as others -You’re confident but not arrogant
Message for Student-Athletes Be sure to remember… There is always a little kid watching you and everything you do. They look up to you and want to be just like you…be the positive role model you should be.
Eligibility Information -Pass the equivalent of 5 credits each quarter **PHYSICAL EDUCATION DOES NOT HOLD ENOUGH WEIGHT TO COUNT FOR CREDIT (OHSAA and WCS Eligibility Requirement) -GPA of 1.75 (WCS Eligibility Requirement) *Check your schedule closely *Do not drop a class before consulting with your coach, guidance counselor, or athletic director
Eligibility Information -Transfers without a change of residence are ineligible for 50% of each sport played in the previous year unless they meet an exception – if you are a transfer student who has not met with the Athletic Director you must do so -Residence – you must be a resident of the Westerville City School district to be eligible -Once you turn 20 years old, you are ineligible for participation -You may not participate on a non-school team during the season -You cannot practice or play unless you are in attendance for at least half a day

Required Paperwork -PreSeason Pre-Participation Exam (Physical) *Make a copy and keep on file at home -Concussion Information Sheet -Emergency Medical Form -Code of Conduct Form -Physical Education Waiver Form/Application *All interscholastic sports activities have inherent dangers. The mere nature of the sports activities makes it possible for the participant to sustain serious injury.
