INTERNET ACCESS CONDUCT AGREEMENT I, ________________________________________, understand and will abide by the district’s Computer Use Regulations, Acceptable Use Policy, and Code of Conduct for Internet access (EFBCA; and EFBCAR1). I further understand that any violation of these rules is unethical and may constitute a criminal offense. Should I commit any violation, my access privileges may be revoked and school disciplinary and/or appropriate legal action may be taken. Computing and technology services at White Rock Public School are provided to promote administrative, educational, and research efforts of the faculty, students and staff. All persons utilizing these services are responsible to ensure that technology resources are used in an ethical and lawful manner. The following basic principles and examples provide a geneneral framework for determining acceptable use behavior and conduct when using school owned computing/ technology resourses:
Use school computing/technology resources for appropriate school activities only. School computer systems shall not be used for commercial or political purposes. Unathorized copies of copyrighted material shall not be created, distributed, or knowlingly utilized. Do not harm the computing environment, and do not harm other system users. Users shall not deliberately attempt to degrade system performance or capability. Users should avoid (or schedule off peak hours) intense computing activities which could degrade system performance. Obscene, offensive, threatening, harassing, or intimidating material shall not be entered into the computer, sent by electronic means, or viewed on school owned computers/ technology. Users shall not examine, change, or use another person’s (or institutional) username, passwords, files, or email. Users shall always identify themselves appropriately and undertake no activities anonymously. Electronic media on all Allen systems is to be considered as private and confidential as possible, reasonable and responsible. System administrators will not read another persona’s data unless requested and/or required by the superintendent, board president, and/or an appropriate law enforcement agent(s). Another person’s data/ content shall be treated as confidential information. Attempts by any person to access another person’s electronic information or systems information and parameters will be treated with the utmost seriousness. Violations of these policies and procedures by faculty, students, staff and/or other users will result in the revocation of computing/ technology privileges. In addition, such actions may result in disciplinary review, sanctions, dismissal from Allen Schools, and appropriate legal actions. Violations of the above policies may constitute a criminal offense(s), punishable by local, state or federal law.
