We will be looking at a range of instructional texts. We will be reading a range of information texts around old homes.
Science Identify and name a range of manmade and natural materials. Identify and name a range of animals including amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals and fish. To describe and compare the structure of a variety of animals.
Literacy
How do pigs, bears and trolls build their houses? If you go down to the woods today, what will be your surprise?
Learning Challenge
To know different types of homes. To know the features associated with a town and village. To look at how weather in this country is different to other countries. We will look at how our lives are different to those of our grandparents.
We will be exploring different ways to describe characters and settings. To use a wider range of vocabulary. We will look at using connectives to make our sentences longer. To look at a variety of question words and structuring a good question.
Trips and visitors
We will be visiting the Maritime Museum to experience an old wash day. We will also take a trip to Delamere Forest for den building.
Maths To count in steps of 2, 5 and 10. To solve one-step problems involving multiplication and division. To find half and a quarter of shapes or amounts. To measure and record length, height and weight. To know the days of the weeks and months of the year.

PE on Mondays Homework available on the school website on Friday. Reading books to be returned on Tuesday and Thursday Spelling books in to school on Wednesday
How can you help your child at home?
Take your child on a walk around our local area and discuss the features of a city. Identify materials around your home and discuss weather they are manmade or natural. To regularly read with your child. To practise reading and writing high frequency words.
