Who Is God? Memory Verse: Matthew 3:16-17 Bible Passage: The Baptism of Jesus – Luke 3:21-22; Mark 1:9-11 Go Deeper: Start your preparation this week reading Mark 1:4-11 regarding John’s baptism of Jesus. The Trinity is one of the most difficult concepts for believers of any age to grasp. The term Trinity is used to describe the Lord as one God who exists as three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Throughout biblical teaching, the trinity has been and continues to be a mystery beyond human comprehension. While Scripture is the only key to unlock the concept of the Trinity, the term Trinity does not appear in the Bible. However, it can be seen throughout the Bible to validate that God Himself is also Jesus Christ and all the ways the Spirit is active in our lives. 88Forms of Water (solid-ice, gas-steam, and liquid-water): One of the most-used metaphors for the Trinity relatable to most kids in studies in school. 88Egg: A chicken’s egg is composed of the egg yolk, the egg shell, and the egg white. 88Apple: Apples also have three parts—skin on their outsides, the edible flesh inside, and seeds in their center.

Regardless of how you choose to share the Trinity with your children, reinforce that the Lord is one God with three persons—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
