IN THE LIFE OF THE CHURCH Borrowed Items Available for Pick-Up

Thank you to those who loaned items for VBS decorations. All items may now be picked up in the youth ministries office (room 2). Thanks to your generosity, we truly created a “Wilderness Escape”!

Operation Kid-to-Kid Mission Project

Imagine walking several miles each day to get water for your family. Imagine that the water you finally get is filled with mud and parasites. This is an accurate picture of the every day reality for nearly a billion people around the world. As part of Wilderness Escape VBS, our church participated in an Operation Kid-to-Kid international mission project that allows us to provide clean drinking water for children in India. For just $2.50 (10 quarters!), a child in India can have clean water for a year at school, including a clean bathroom and place to wash hands. So far, we have collected enough money to provide clean drinking water for 73 children in India! It’s not too late to give to this important mission project! We will continue to collect donations through today (please note Operation Kid-to-Kid on your check’s memo line). Thank you for your generosity!

Youth News

High School students (incoming grade 9—completed grade 12) are invited to join Rev. Ike on Tuesday’s for Summer Lunches. Please be at church by 11:45 a.m. and bring lunch money. If you need transportation to church, please call the church office on Monday morning (324-5335). The last Summer Lunch will be Tuesday, August 12.

August Needs

We are collecting canned fruit for the First Ashland food pantry and paper towels for the Shelter of Hope during August.

Coffee Fellowship Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed to host coffee fellowship following Morning Worship. Please consider signing up for one Sunday. Provide the refreshments; receive the blessing of bringing the church family together in fellowship. A sign up schedule is available on the table in the Narthex.

Please place contributions in the wooden bins in the hallway. • The DWM Book Club is reading A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving for its summer selection.
