Why Is Gautam Gambhir The Most Underrated Indian Cricketer? Sports Gautam Gambhir, born on October 14th, 1981, is a left-handed batsman who mainly serves as an opener for the Indian cricket team. He made his debut in the 1900-00 season for Delhi and in the year 2000, he was selected in the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore which is a premiere place to train young cricketers who have the capability to represent the Indian cricket team. He played a vital role in the 2007 T20 world cup triumph and 2011 cricket world cup, however, his career graph took a downfall after 2011. But the southpaw couldn't be written off so easily. Today he leads Delhi and is the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders. Gautam has come a long way and today, on his 35th birthday, we'd like to share some of the greatest things he has done for out cricket team.
