BENEFITS FOR STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES IN THE UNIVERSIDAD EUROPEA DE MADRID

1. Principles With the objective of endorsing the representational work of the university Student Representatives and overseeing compliance with their obligations as given in the Student Representative Regulations and by the Student Government of the Universidad Europea de Madrid, the University offers all Student Representatives a series of benefits. 2. Benefits 1. Recognition of ECTS credits in the University Activities subject: i. One credit per year for being an active member of the faculty/school/center delegation. ii. One additional credit per year for being a member of the Student Government. 2. Accreditation of role as a Student Representative: i. A record of the role as a Student Representative or participation in the Student Government in the LPA certificate. 3. International Exchange Programs: i. Student Representatives will be evaluated favorably in the allocation of places on International exchange programs, following the conditions that are set out in the International Exchange Programs Regulations, applicable to the year the program is requested and as set out in the corresponding Faculty/School provisions. ii. Student Representatives will be evaluated favorably in the selection process of students to participate in international volunteering teams. 4. Completion of extracurricular internships: i. Student Representatives will have preferential access to the extracurricular internships within the UEM, and they will be proactively informed of those extracurricular internships external to UEM. 5. Participation in University Events: i. Attendance to events organized by the university with restricted access (graduation ceremony, opening of course, honorary degree presentations, TEDx, etc) will be facilitated to Student Representatives ii. Student Representatives will be invited to conferences/seminars/debates given by relevant figures that are organized by the University. 6. Participation in student sectorial meetings: i. Student Representatives can opt to represent UEM students in the sectorial meetings that correspond with their degree course, joining students from other universities. 7. Participation as jury members in Faculty awards: i. Student Representatives can form part of the jury panel in the awards granted by the University to faculty (e.g. teaching innovation award, other awards given to faculty in the graduation ceremony). 8. Participation in the Degree Quality Assurance Committee

Conditions a) The benefits set out in point 2 are only standing in the case of proper fulfilment of the obligations as a Student Representative as set out in the Student Government and Student Delegate Regulations of the Universidad Europea de Madrid. b) In the event of a Student Representative not properly complying with the obligations and, without due cause, fails to attend three consecutive or five non-consecutive Student Representative or Student Government meetings, the University, after a justifying report referred to in point 4, is entitled to automatically withdraw the benefits that the Student Representative in question has. This fact will be communicated to the Delegation or Student Government in order for the appropriate measures to be taken for the discontinuation and substitution of said Student Representative. 4. Procedure The University will obtain information from the other Student Representatives and, after a meeting with the Student Representative concerned, the Student Services Department will issue a report for the purposes of justifying the non-compliance.
