Winchester Science Centre is the leading science attraction in the South of England. Enjoy exploring 100 science exhibits for a hands-on learning experience. The huge on-site planetarium offers a breathtaking 360° experience. This is the largest capacity planetarium in the UK showcasing some of the latest technologies. Open seven days a week, the Science Centre attracts over 150,000 visitors each year and is a Registered Charity. Winchester Science Centre is a Member of the UK Association of Science and Discovery Centres and of Ecsite, the EU Science Centres’ Association.

Group Bookings:

Discounts available for groups. Optional extras include cream teas for adults, badge evenings for Cubs/Brownies/Beavers and other activities.

Birthday Parties:

An ideal venue for birthday parties! The package includes food and a general entry ticket. Planetarium shows are an optional extra.

Schools:

The Science Centre operates a full programme for schools, including specialist workshops run by the Education Team both on and off-site.

Venue Hire:

From a private planetarium show to whole-centre hire with catering, a bespoke package of venue hire options are available. Individual meeting rooms can also be booked.

Membership:

Get unlimited free entry to the Science Centre for a year and 50% discount on standard planetarium shows.

100 HANDS-ON EXHIBITS The general exhibition space is all about hands-on learning. From testing your body’s agility to solving maths puzzles, the exhibits offer a fun and inspiring way to find out about the world around us. Winchester Science Centre works with university partners to develop new exhibits each year.

PLANETARIUM The largest stand-alone planetarium in the UK Offering a state-of-the-art digital experience with images projected around a 360° domed screen. Live, presenter-led shows can fly you from Earth to the edges of the known Universe, while pre-recorded fulldome films can transport you inside the human body, into the leaves of a tree or to discover aliens on a distant planet. A variety of shows are offered for both children and adults.
