Sew Basic  It’s time to get your sew on! Whether you have never touched a sewing machine or it has been a long

time and you need a refresher, this class will help you gain the confidence you need. We will guide you through the basic features of a machine and how to set it up. Through sewing a pillowcase, you will learn many basic sewing skills. You will leave the class feeling confident and ready to start your first sewing project on your own. Sew Basic 2  Perhaps you learned how to sew years ago, but would like a refresher while making a simple project. Or perhaps you’ve recently taken Sew Basic 1 with us and are ready for the next step . . . then this class is for you! In this class, you will build upon the basic sewing skills you have. Making a reversible tote bag will teach skills such as boxed corners, sewing handles and simple bag construction. School of Sewing  Do you want to learn to sew? Does the idea of learning on your own sound a little daunting and time consuming? Then this is the class for you! In this 6 week beginning sewing series, you will learn how to set up your machine, measure and cut fabric, make and sew binding, sew boxed corners, sew French seams, add zippers and so much more. We will work through many different projects in this course, all from Shea Henderson’s book “School of Sewing”. This class may require some sewing between sessions which can be done in our studio free of charge. Pre-requisite: Sew Basic or equivalent experience. Ages: 15 & up. Finish It! Binding Basics & Techniques  Taught by Tara Pezzino The last step: binding! Learn how to finish your

quilt in the best way possible! This class will take you through many different techniques, including both machine and hand binding, and show you the benefits and drawbacks of each technique so you can choose the best method for you and your project! Dec 11 6:00p-9:00p Learn to Paper Piece with Lawn Diamonds Taught by Tara Pezzino Using Sarah Schraw’s Lawn Diamonds, a winning entry in Cotton & Steel’s #Lawnquilt Competition, you will learn the joys of foundation paper piecing. Using this simple pattern, you will construct your first paper pieced project: a beautiful table runner. This pattern is basic, but the fun is in the technique and the color play! My First Modern Quilt 

Taught by Claire Whitman In this introductory class, you will learn the steps of quilting from fabric selection, piecing, sandwiching, and machine quilting to binding. We will work through several different techniques as we piece and quilt nine different blocks using Tula Pink’s book City Sampler. This a three session class and there will be a lot to cover as we make a quilt start to finish so have a good breakfast before you come. We will discuss fabric selection, but feel free to come in at an earlier time and pick out your fabrics with the help of the Studio’s knowledgeable staff. As always, you will receive 10% off class supplies bought at Stitched Studio. Prerequisite: Sew Basic or equivalent sewing experience. Ages: 15 & up. Class Fee $90 for 3 session class. FMQ 101: Introduction to Modern Free-Motion Quilting 

Taught by Claire Whitman If you have a giant pile of quilt tops finished or have just started piecing your first top and want to be able to do the quilting yourself, take this class! I f you love to make bags and want to add your own quilting style, take this class! You do not need any prior experience with free-motion quilting. We will focus on a few approachable free-motion designs that can be easily tweaked in a variety of ways to create different looks. Prerequisite: Sew Basic or equivalent experience. Ages: 15 & up. Free Motion Quilting: Curves  Taught by Claire Whitman Come explore quilting with a variety of free motion designs made with curves! Learn to stitch beautiful curves using Lore Kennedy’s new book 1-2-3 Free Motion Quilting: waves and spirals, flowers and dots. This is the class for you if you’ve played with stippling and meandering but want to learn more. Also check out our FMQ: Corners class! Prerequisite: FMQ 101 or equivalent experience. Ages: 15 & up. Free Motion Quilting: Corners 

Taught by Claire Whitman Come and explore quilting a variety of free motion designs with corners. We will practice triangles, Greek keys, bricks & some pictorial designs (snowflakes, fences, boats, fish, anchors, and houses). This is the class for you if you’ve played with stippling and meandering but want to learn more. Prerequisite: FMQ 101 or equivalent experience. Ages: 15 & up. Class Fee $20 for 1 session class. Wed. Ruler Work on the Domestic Machine  Taught by Claire Whitman Whether you want to add ruler work to your free motion quilting or want to learn free motion quilting through using the ruler, this is the class for you! You will learn the fundamentals needed to FMQ with rulers and you will also learn a variety of FMQ designs on a fabric panel created for this class. We will provide both the ruler foot and ruler kit for you (no need to purchase before class). This is a great way to try this fun and versatile quilting method before you invest in the tools! Maker’s Tote 

Taught by Amanda Carriere Make this modern spin on a vintage doctor’s bag carry-all tote. You will learn how to install a top zipper, exterior zip pocket, as well as gusseted and slip pockets in this adorable and useful new bag (pattern by Noodlehead). English Paper Piecing 101 Taught by Renee Gardner Looking for something to work on during your child’s fall sporting events? Or maybe while traveling for the holidays? Look no further—English Paper Piecing is the perfect on-thego project. No sewing machine needed. This is all sewn by hand! Steeped in history, English Paper Piecing has been around for centuries, but it’s making a comeback in the modern quilting world. Learn the basics of this classic technique by stitching a hexagon grandmother’s flower. This technique can be used in so many ways to add embellishments to a garment or to make a whole quilt. The Peacock: an English Paper Piecing Project by Violet Craft  Taught by Amanda Carriere In this two part class, we will go over the basics of EPP—including prepping and cutting the fabrics, securing the fabrics to templates (using either glue basting or thread basting) and EPP stitching technique—as you craft Violet Craft’s beautiful peacock design. Fabric Collage  Taught by Lisa Beidler Scraps! Scraps! Scraps! If the sound of the word makes you smile, this is just

the project for you. Lisa will give you all the tips and tricks to create your own beautiful collage. Choose from one of Laura Heine’s patterns or draw your own outline. Bring scraps of your own but know that Stitched Studio’s large and beautiful collection of scraps will be available to you also. Finally our scraps will join yours in beautiful works of art. Wool Pumpkin  Taught by Kristin Hogeterp Fall is here! Get in the spirit of the season with this fun class which teaches the art of needle felting through construction of an adorable pumpkin decoration. Project finishes about 4 x 4 in. Intro to Knit Garment Sewing 

Taught by Jess Pugh This class will take the fear out of sewing with knits! Through construction of Grainline Studio’s Lark Tee pattern, you will learn the tips and tricks of working with knits on a regular sewing machine (not an overlocker). This tee pattern is one of our favorites, too—it fits great and is simple to construct! Prerequisite: School of Sewing or equivalent experience. Ages: 15 & up. Class Fee $60 for 2 session class. The Gentleman’s Shirt  Taught by Lisa Beidler We’re so excited about our new book, The Gentleman’s Wardrobe, that we had to teach one of the classic pieces from it! This class will focus on the long sleeved shirt. You will learn flat felled seams, perfecting the points on a collar, a “real” button placket, buttons and buttonholes, cuffs, a back yoke, and a curved hem. All these make your finished shirt have a very professional look. Prerequisite: School of Sewing or equivalent experience. Ages: 15 & up. Class Fee $90 for 3 session class. Tuesdays Sept 26, Oct 3, 10 10:00a-1:00p & Fridays Nov 3, 10, 17 12:30p-3:30p Intro to Hand Embroidery  Taught by JD Shumway There are many modern projects being done with embroidery right now and there are a variety of pattern designs available which combine to make embroidery a great project for anyone. It is a relaxing, creative outlet as well as being portable, which makes it perfect for sitting at games, traveling, or watching a movie. JD will instruct you in the following stitches: blanket, chevron, herringbone, feather, chain, lazy daisy, along with French knot and colonial knot, to get you going on your embroidery project. Nov 13 1:00p-4:00p Explorer Tote  Taught by Renee Gardener Why spend hundreds on a purse that everyone has when you can make your own unique tote! Make yourself a tote to complement your style! This pattern by Noodlehead is a great size and it has a plethora of pockets to keep things organized and accessible. While making this wonderful tote, you will learn how to construct a zipper closure, install detachable straps (on large size only), how to use different types of interfacing in bag making, and also installing a hidden magnetic closure. Gallery Tunic  Taught by Sherry Damon Using Liesl + Co’s wonderful pattern, the Gallery Tunic, you will make a tunic or dress (pattern offers two lengths) you’ll love for all seasons. This pattern also offers two different necklines to choose from to make the pattern just right for you. Prerequisite: School of Sewing or equivalent experience. Ages: 15 & up. You’ll also learn how to use both the Sidekick ruler and the Hex N More ruler. You will be able to choose your own project; the possibilities are endless. Fridays Oct 13, 20 10:00a-12:00p & Tuesdays Nov 28, Dec 5 2:00-4:00 New York Beauties & Flying Geese Pillow  Taught by Lynda Plowman “I’m spreading the news” about this fun New York Beauties pillow project. Join us as we explore foundation paper piecing, sewing arcs, and finishing a pillow. Must have some foundation paper piecing experience. Ages: 15 & up. Class Fee $55 for 1 session class. Sat. Oct 14 12:00p-6:00p Quilt as You Go  Taught by JD Shumway Instead of sending your big quilts to a long arm quilter or trying to wrestle those quilts on your home machine, finish them with the quilt as you go method! In our two hour lecture/demo, you ’ll learn this easy “chunk to chunk” method for joining quilt sections. There are no extra little strips to add and no whip stitched batting pieces. Dec 8 4:00p-6:00p Run Around Romper  Taught by Sherry Damon The Run Around Romper is not your typical child’s romper—it has a unique and modern look with fabric designs pieced on the front. It’s great for either a boy or girl. This is a garment introductory class, so if you’ve been sewing for a while, but have never made a garment, this is the class for you! Prerequisite: School of Sewing or equivalent experience. Ages: 15 & up. Class Fee $55 for 2 session class. Wednesdays Nov 8, 15 12:00p-3:00p Woven Essentials  Taught by Amanda Carriere Alison Glass’s Essential Series garment patterns are designed to guide you through building a wardrobe of pieces you love to make and wear everyday. The patterns come in a wide range of sizes, initially designed to fit an hourglass shape. The pattern allows you to modify the size of the pattern pieces to fit your body shape. There are also aspects of the dress you can change to make it fit your taste. This is a confident beginner to intermediate garment project. Prerequisite: School of Sewing or equivalent experience. Hula Quilt 

Taught by Carolyn Eary Choose a bundle of low volume prints and your favorite colored solids for a dynamic quilt! Paper piecing is used for the rings to give you beautifully precise shapes without the use of templates. In this class, I’ll help you get organized for the project, get started, and give you tips and tricks to streamline your piecing process. Sewing will be required between classes. Wool Snowman  Taught by Kristin Hogeterp Frosty the Snowman is so sweet made out of wool! Whether this is your first needle felting project or you’ve needle felted before, this class is sure to charm! There’s something so festive about a classic snowman decoration. Dec 18 4:00p-6:30p Dresden Neighborhood  Taught by Tara Pezzino Using the Dresden Plate Ruler, this mini is a fun twist on the classic Dresden block. Stitched Kids School of Sewing 

Taught by Lucinda Poel Sewing is a fabulous life skill that provides an opportunity for creativity and personal accomplishment. Allow us to teach your child! This 10 week course uses a series of projects from the book School of Sewing to teach your child to sew. These projects include a pillowcase, zippered pouch and drawstring bag, to name only a few. This class is perfect for the new sewist or for a child wanting to expand upon his/her skills. Recommended ages 9-15. Must be 9 years old by start of class to register. Stitched Kids Sew Basic 

Taught by Staff Rotation This class is the same format as our adult class just geared for the young ones! In this class the students will learn the functions of running a sewing machine, some important fundamentals of sewing plus some starter sewing skills while making a pillow case. They will make a pillow cover for their room and walk away with the ability to make more! Recommended ages 9-15. Must be 9 years old by start of class to register. Class Fee $25 for 1 session class. Chenille Pillow 

Taught by Sherry Damon Let’s make a fun banner pillow with chenille and bias tape. We’ll also personalize your pillow by embroidering your name! Prerequisite: Kids Sew Basic or equivalent experience. Class Payment is due at the time of enrollment. Student cancellations will receive neither credit or refund. At this time there are no make up classes. We reserve the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment, in which case we will credit your fee towards another class or issue a refund.
