WKU is 13-16 overall and 7-9 in Conference USA play. This game was WKU’s 16th true road game of the season, the program’s most since 1945-46. Old Dominion improves to 18-10 overall and 11-5 in league play. Old Dominion leads the all-time series 18-16, including 10-2 in Norfolk. WKU head coach Rick Stansbury is 1-2 all-time against ODU. Attendance was 7,355. UP NEXT: WKU returns home for its final two home games, starting against North Texas at 7 p.m. CT Thursday at E.A. Diddle Arena. WKU used the starting lineup of Junior Lomomba, Pancake Thomas, Que Johnson, Justin Johnson and Anton Waters for the 11th straight game. KEY FIRST HALF RUN: Up 16-13, Old Dominion went on a 12-0 run to pull in front 28-13 with 8:11 left in the half. o WKU went 7:02 without scoring until Justin Johnson broke the drought with a 3-pointer. KEY SECOND HALF RUN: WKU cut its deficit to 10 multiple times in the second half, but never got within single digits. After Justin Johnson’s 3-pointer made it 56-46 with 7:16 to play, Old Dominion scored eight of the next 10 points to keep the Tops at bay. WKU shot 15 of 49 (30.6 percent) from the field, 8 of 24 (33.3 percent) from 3-point range and 15 of 18 (83.3 percent) from the free-throw line. WKU has made a 3-pointer in 935 straight games dating back to March 15, 1987.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES PANCAKE THOMAS • The redshirt senior scored a game-high 17 points, grabbed six rebounds and made four 3-pointers, as well as all five of his free throws. o The game was Thomas’ ninth this season with at least four made 3s, including his seventh in the last 12 games. QUE JOHNSON • The redshirt senior scored 12 points and knocked down all four of his free throws. JABARI MCGHEE • The redshirt sophomore returned after missing the last three games with a shoulder injury and tallied four points and two rebounds in seven minutes off the bench. JUSTIN JOHNSON • The junior contributed 11 points, seven rebounds and two assists in 34 minutes. o Johnson moved up to 40th on WKU’s all-time scoring list with 1,069 career points, passing Bobby Jackson, Jeremy Evans and Orlando Mendez-Valdez. BEN LAWSON • The senior blocked one shot, joining Jeremy Evans as the only Hilltoppers with three seasons of at least 50 blocks each.
