The department appreciates your interest and support, but reminds you that an inappropriate contact or an inadvertent action on your part can jeopardize the eligibility of our prospects and student-athletes. Among other rules, it is important to remember that boosters are prohibited from making in-person, off-campus recruiting contacts with prospective student athletes or their family members. Boosters are also prohibited from providing student-athletes with any “extra benefits,” including cash or loans, transportation, meals, clothes, housing, entertainment, gifts or any other benefit. When in doubt, the safest action is to check with the compliance office first and act second. THANKS AND GO WOLVES! Randi Lydum Director of Compliance (503) 838-8121 [email protected]

SUPPORTING WESTERN OREGON STUDENT-ATHLETES

WESTERN OREGON WOLVES CLUB Thank you for your interest in the Wolves Club, the primary annual giving organization for WOU Athletics. We have wrapped up a successful second year and are looking to grow in 2013-14! We close 2012-13 with 125 members who collectively gave just over $43,000 to support studentathlete scholarships.

BENEFIT LEVELS

As we move into 2013-14, your support is more critical than ever. The 2012-13 academic and athletic year has been successful and your contribution will help us continue our growth in order to provide all of our student-athletes with a championship experience. Therefore, I ask you to join the Wolves Club to support these remarkable student-athletes.

Donations during the 2012-13 academic and athletic year helped numerous teams earn spots in post-season play. Highlights from the past year included baseball capturing its 12th-straight GNAC title, volleyball finishing second in the conference while producing the program’s first NCAA All-American and track & field sending a number of student-athletes to the NCAA Championships. Academically, our graduation and retention rates continue to outpace the student body at large! We are proud of our studentathletes and all of the success they have had in competition and in the classroom! Thank you again for your support of Western Oregon Athletics, and we look forward to your support in 2013-14. Thanks and Go Wolves! Barb Dearing Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics

SCHOLARSHIP LEVELS The chart below depicts our biggest need at WOU as our scholarship levels continue to be well-below our peer institutions. Despite this deficiency, WOU Athletics continues to thrive; however, we cannot provide our student-athletes the all-around championship experience they deserve without increasing these numbers. In the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC), the mean scholarship level is 75 scholarship equivalencies. WOU provides the equivalent of 40 scholarships. Wolves Club donations go towards support of scholarships and your donation will allow our student-athletes to succeed on and off the field while preparing for a rewarding life after graduation.
