Wood Rack Assembly and Installation Instructions Included in the kit: (2) Base units (6) Arms with foam (4) Wood screws (1) Super glue tube
Tools Needed: -Phillips drill or driver -Rubber mallet or hammer -Pencil -Level (or a good eye)
Step 1: Place Glue in the Rack Arm Holes The rack’s arms are designed to fit snuggly into the holes on the base, but as an extra precaution we provide (very fast drying) glue that you should use to ensure safety. To properly place the glue, you should drip some on the inside face of the hole (do not put the glue on the arm itself). 3 or 4 drops per hole should be sufficient. FYI: you may need to pop the glue pack’s seal in order for the glue to come out.
Step 2: Hammer in the Rack Arms Getting the rack arms into the base may require you to hammer them in with a rubber mallet. A traditional hammer will also work, but we recommend using some sort of buffer (like another piece of wood) so that the arm doesn’t get damaged. When placing the arms in, you should take note of the foam cut. Orient the arm so that the foam sits flush against the base. Repeat this process for all of the arms. IMPORTANT: The rack arms must be inserted all the way down into the holes in the base, such that the end of the arm touches the bottom of the hole when inserted. If it appears that there is not enough exposed dowel at one end of the arm to accomplish this, you can compress the foam on the rack arm (to a degree) to get the foam to expose the arm as needed. Step 3: Determine Mounting Location Find a suitable location on your wall to mount the rack. We recommend mounting this rack into studs or a substantial surface. Studs are typically found 16” apart and can be found in your walls a couple different ways. Step 4: Level Rack and Mark Vertical Orientation Once you’ve found a suitable spot to put the rack, place the rack base against the wall. Using a level, make sure the base is vertical. You can use a pencil to mark as a reference for use when actually installing the rack. Step 5: Screw Assembly into Wall Using your pencil markings as a guide, align the base vertically and screw the assembly onto the wall using a power drill with Phillips bit. There are 4 provided wood screws – 2 for each base. The screws holes have been countersunk so that the screw head is hidden and won’t snag your gear. Install all 4 screws into studs and enjoy!
