Youth Football Camp
Grades 3 – 8 • July 5 - 8, 2017 • 9:00 - 11:30 am • High School In cooperation with the Woodridge Recreation Association, Woodridge Football is excited to offer the third annual “Big Dawg” youth football camp. Last year’s camp was a great success and brought in 55 campers learning new skills and competing as part of a team in championship tournaments. The teams were coached and led by our high school players…and they had as much fun as the young campers. We passed out a lot of award plaques & t-shirts along the way and taught the kids about leadership and being teammates. This camp is designed to provide a fun atmosphere for future Bulldogs to develop fundamentals of football, such as safe blocking, tackling, ball handling, receiving, passing, and kicking in a non-contact format. These skills will be further developed through a combination of individual period instruction as well as group and team competitions. The players will be coached by the high school and middle school staff, as well as former and current players. All age groups will begin with a meeting and warm-ups together. Groups will then be separated for age specific instruction and similar ability level competitions with awards. Each player will be coached in all areas of the game. Current and former players will be there to encourage and be a role models for the kids as well as help them with their skills. “Team, Trust, Bulldog” our team motto, which involves team work, sportsmanship and character as a young person, will be a major focus throughout the week. Our goal is that your child will gain valuable football knowledge and skill from this camp, but more importantly have fun with the other campers and coaches. Also, campers will receive a camp t-shirt! What to Bring: Campers will need to bring cleats (good athletic shoes are ok for the younger campers). They will each need their own water bottle with their name on it. No helmets or pads. Cost: The camp will cost $50 per camper if registration is received by June 15th. This allows us to order the t-shirts and have them in time for the camp. Cost increases to $60 after that date.
