Location Woolton is a popular suburb that is considered to be one of the most desirable residential locations in the City of Liverpool. The immediate area is served by Woolton Village which offers a range of both national operators and local independent shops. Woolton Golf Club is situated less than half a mile south of the site. The city centre, accessed via the A562, is some 6.5 miles north. Junction 4 of the M62 is 3.l5 miles north and Hunt’s Cross Railway Station is less than 1 mile south , connecting Liverpool Lime Street, Manchester and further afield.
Description Woolton Hall is a Grade I listed property built in the early 18th century. The hall and associated grounds extend to some 1.59 ha (3.92 acres). In 1972 a 5 storey accommodation block for the convent was erected in the grounds. The hall and convent block are now vacant. To the southern edge of the site there are foundations associated with the 2004 planning permission and a four bedroom lodge and annex. The site is relatively flat yet benefits from a slightly raised position above Speke Road. It is accessed via Speke Road to the east, leading to a tree lined access road that serves Woolton Hall. The Hall has a strong association with the architect Robert Adam and was most recently used as a function venue.
