World Jewish Congress Counter-Delegitimization Department
The World Jewish Congress (“WJC”) is establishing a new international department to counter the various efforts and initiatives across the globe to delegitimize the State of Israel, including manifestations organized by and/or associated with the BDS movement (collectively, “Delegitimization”). The Counter-Delegitimization Department will, among other things, identify and expose the funders of Delegitimization initiatives and manifestations; create a multi-jurisdictional data base relating to Delegitimization; mobilize all the WJC’s resources in the fight against Delegitimization; organize global and regional forums; and fight against Delegitimization on social media. The WJC is presently looking to hire a director for the Counter-Delegitimization Department. Director – Job Description The director of the Counter-Delegitimization Department will be based in New York, will report to the WJC Chief Program Officer, and must be a U.S citizen or permanent resident, or have valid U.S. work visa. Duties and Responsibilities
Set up the WJC’s department to counter worldwide Delegitimization initiatives Formulate and lead activities in the counter-Delegitimization field, including but not limited to: community training programs; public events; legal support; social media initiatives, forums etc.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
Knowledgeable about Jewish communities worldwide, and their internal infrastructure Legal and/or policy background/experience especially as regards to legal/legislative Delegitimizationrelated initiatives Experience in and working knowledge of intelligence systems and analysis Knowledgeable about Delegitimization and related anti-Israel initiatives, their status under different countries’ domestic legislations, and pending or contemplated laws regarding Delegitimization. Experience working in a team and managing/coordinating personnel in multiple international locations Self-starter 8-10 years managerial experience Strong communication skills and good writing skills English Fluency essential (other languages, especially Hebrew, Arabic and/or French, useful)
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
Press relations experience Computer skills (necessary to set up and maintain online platforms) Knowledgeable about social media Experienced in organizing public events Master’s degree, or higher, in a relevant field
