WPS Train-‐The-‐Trainer Program March 14, 2017 1:00-‐4:00 PM Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County 423 Griffing Avenue, Riverhead • 1st Floor Meeting Room
In the revised Worker Protection Standard (WPS), effective January 2017, worker training must be conducted by certified applicators, approved trainers, and persons who have completed an EPA-‐approved train-‐the-‐trainer course. If you are not a certified pesticide applicator, you are not approved by the EPA to train workers or handlers as required by the WPS (or if individual conducting worker and handler training at your operation is not a certified applicator, they are not approved by the EPA to train workers or handlers). This program will provide the EPA-‐approved training course that will meet the requirements of becoming an EPA-‐ approved trainer. Participants completing this course will be able to train workers and handlers, as specified in the WPS. There will be no pesticide credits available at this training course. This program will be conducted by Nora Catlin and Sandra Menasha of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County. $10 Registration Fee per person. Pre-‐registration required, space is limited.
