Speaker introduction
• Erin Stone is part of the BBraun IT organization as SAP Senior FI/CO Technical Analyst • Certified CRISC • IT Support for the Finance, Controlling, SAP Security, Audit and Law Compliance business areas since 2006. • Prior to B. Braun, Stone worked for Bayer Corporation as an SAP Product Cost Analyst, implementing portions of the product cost module of SAP in 2001 – 2005. 5
Prior to Winshuttle Query – manual data downloading and manipulation
• Business reporting is complex and some reports require programming. • Different business users have specific needs, such as certain data that can not be joined in SQVI of SAP but with Studio Query this step is possible. • Before business users were dumping data from different SAP reports and merging that data manually to arrive at their month end reports. • This data dumping was a very stressful process. 6
The Solution
• A combination of Winshuttle Query, Excel and SAP Lumira. • With Studio Query a business user is empowered to be able to extract and control data from SAP and push into a more flexible front end reporting tool, such as Lumira (Power BI, SQL reporting etc).

Results
• Results can be emailed to business users everyday at a certain time. • Business users can now create their own queries without IT assistance.

Lessons learned
• Work with the business users to get a clear understanding of their requirements. • The same output from Query to pull into any BI tool for example Lumira, MS Power BI, Even Business Objects.

What’s next
• Bbraun business users in our Master data are use Query to pull down all Bill and Material information to clean and then they run Transaction Shuttle to upload the repaired data. This process called a “Round Trip”. • More reporting for Finance and Controlling with more flexibility.
