WWPSA Travel Calendar Year End Soccer Sale Winter Planning
Directors’ Message Director of Travel – Bill Gardner Director of Coaching – Nick Harrison The Fall Season has successfully concluded, so it is time to reflect on the significant changes in 2012 and planned improvements for 2013.
The introduction of the Player Development Model and appointment of Nick Harrison as our Director of Coaching are the most notable changes. That said, we also made important changes in the introduction of TDA Plus, an augmented Skills Night program including an extra hour of organized pick-up games, the introduction of the College training series run by College coaches, and the introduction of Community nights at Rider and Princeton Universities. Plus, we launched the Mercer FC Summer Select and Yearround teams, with one team reaching the NJ State Cup quarterfinals in its first year. 2013 expects to bring further improvements to the program including improved Club and Team Communications and Parent Education Series, additional Skills programs, trainer coordination across teams, and expansion of the College training series for Boys and Girls. Mercer FC Summer Select Tryouts – Dec 2nd Summer Select is a terrific opportunity to extend our Player Development Model, adding advanced professional technical skills training and highly competitive tournament games in a condensed 8 week period. We also have the opportunity to invite new players to join our teams and build the strength of our overall program and high quality of our teams. Participation in the Summer Select program is by invitation only, with Tryouts in December (this weekend) and March. Participation in both tryout dates is highly recommended. Upcoming Events: WWPSA Travel Calendar Parent Education, WWPSA Sprit Wear Coming in January… DOC Nick will continue our Parent Education Series, covering important topics including: Player Development, Role of the Parent, Physiological & Psychological, Contemporary Issues, and College Recruitment Process. Meetings will take place at the WW Sr Center. WWPSA Spirit Wear orders have been placed and are expected fro delivery by mid-December. Team Managers will reach out when the orders are ready for pick-up.
WWPSA Board Elections & General Meeting The WWPSA Annual General Meeting will be held Tuesday, December 4th at 8pm in the West Windsor Library. This meeting is open to the public and you are welcome to attend.
In this meeting, the current Board of Directors will provide Year-end Program Summary Reports. In addition, the new 2013 Board of Directors will be elected. You can cast your vote at the meeting.
Winter Planning Indoor, Futsal, and Skills opportunities The winter indoor season starts soon!! We have a number of teams participating in Princeton Futsal leagues commencing Dec 9th. Indoor practices commence January 5th / 6th at Millstone River School
