Volunteer your time for your community... As you reach out in various ways to serve your fellow neighbor please know that we at The Salvation Army appreciate all that you do for the community and God.

Women’s Ministry (formerly the Home League) meet together to encourage, educate and serve. The young ladies and women organize fund-raisers, work on local Corps programs and international missions projects.

SA Men Ministry (formerly the Men’s Club) meet together to encourage, educate and serve. The young gents and men organize fund-raisers, work on local Corps programs and international missions projects.

Youth Character-Building helpers/leaders are needed for our boy’s and girl’s programs. You can help us shape the future adults of Porter County.

Adopt-A-Family

Nov.-Dec.

Help collect, sort, setup & distribute adoption family gifts, clothing and food. Be an adopter to share gifts for families in need with your choice preferences of area, size & need.

Food Drives

All year

Help us provide canned food, baby products and nonperishable items for Porter County residents in need throughout the year. Your group or organization can collect, buy, sort and/or restock our pantry shelves to help needy Porter County residents. Divide & package donated goods by Panera & Pizza Hut-Tuesdays/Thursdays.

CAMPS (see camp brochure)

SUMMER

Leaders, Counselors and helpers are needed for Youth, Seniors & Adults Camps at Little Pine Isalnd Camp in Comstock Park, MI. Volunteers help build relationships, teach skills & lead or assist in recreational activities. Biblebased overnight, weekday & weekend stays with food and lodging provided. Drivers for transportation are also needed.

Community Care Ministry April & December Visit nursing home residents and shut-ins to provide seniors with holiday gifts & the War Cry ( TSA magazine).

Red Kettle Campaign

We need bell ringers to help us collect monetary donations during the Christmas Season for year ‘round assistance programs.

Stuff The Bus

Fall

Helpers collect (“man” a table) at one of our collection sites, help sort or work at our Block Party for ‘Stuff the Bus’ School Supplies Assistance Program. Get involved to help us assist Porter County students with school supplies. We collect & distribute in the Fall (July/August) in preparation for new school year.
