UNSAIN YN STREICIO DROS

GYFLOG TEG Mae aelodau UNSAIN mewn cynghorau ac ysgolion wedi pleidleisio i streicio oherwydd 'cynnig' cyflog sarhaus y cyflogwyr - 1% i'r mwyafrif o aelodau ac ychydig yn fwy i'r rhai ar y cyflog isaf er mwyn cadw lefelau cyflog ychydig yn uwch na'r Isafswm Cyflog Cenedlaethol.

Nid yw'r cynnig cyflog hwn yn ddigon o bell ffordd. Nid yw'n cadw i fyny â chodiadau prisiau, felly mae'n doriad arall ar eich cyflog. A bydd yn cael effaith negyddol ar eich pensiwn. Rydym angen i CHI a'ch holl gydweithwyr ymuno â'r streic. Bydd hyn yn anfon neges glir i'ch cyflogwyr bod yn rhaid iddynt wella eu cynnig a dangos y parch ichi rydych yn ei haeddu.

Nid yw streicio'n ddewis rhwydd yn arbennig pan yw arian yn brin. Ond hebddo, ni fydd y cyflogwyr yn dychwelyd i drafodaethau na chynyddu'r cynnig. Maent wedi gwneud hynny'n eglur. Ac nid ydynt yn barod i ddechrau trafodaethau cyflafareddu annibynnol ychwaith. Os ydych yn wynebu caledi o ganlyniad i streicio, gallwch geisio cymorth gan UNSAIN. Bydd streicio'n dangos i'n cyflogwyr ein bod yn barod i amddiffyn ein cyflog. Bydd yn anfon neges i'r llywodraeth na allant ddal i dorri ar wasanaethau, swyddi a chyflog heb gael eu herio. Rydym yn gryfach gyda'n gilydd. Digon yw digon

UNISON ON STRIKE FOR FAIR PAY UNISON members in councils and schools have voted to take strike action over the employers’ insulting pay ‘offer’ – 1% for most members and slightly more for the lowest paid to keep pay levels just above the National Minimum Wage. This pay offer isn’t anywhere near enough. It doesn’t keep pace with price increases, so it’s a further pay cut. And it will have a negative impact on your pension. We need YOU and all your workmates to join the strike. This will send a clear message to your employers that they must improve their offer and show you the respect you deserve.

Taking strike action is not an easy choice – especially when finances are tight. But without it, the employers will not return to negotiations or increase the offer. They’ve made that clear. And they are not prepared to enter independent arbitration talks either. If you face hardship from taking strike action, you can seek help from UNISON.

Strike action will show our employers we are prepared to defend our pay. It will send a message to government that they can’t keep cutting services, jobs and pay unchallenged. We are stronger together. Enough is enough

The pay claim is affordable council and schools workers are worth it

Five reasons why you should be striking for fair pay 1. You can’t afford another pay and pension cut For most of you, this offer leaves your pay worth almost 20% less than in 2010. If you are in the local government pension scheme, falling pay means loss of pension for the rest of your life.

2. You are worth fair pay for the work you do Your pay and conditions are the worst in the public sector from top to bottom. The slightly higher offer to the lowest paid just keeps councils above the National Minimum Wage – not a rate that anyone working in a council or school should be paid. On top of this, councils are attacking jobs and pay locally.

3. Taking another pay cut won’t save jobs and services You are doing far more for far less and working unpaid overtime. But your job is still threatened and less secure than private sector jobs. 450,000 jobs have been cut from local government since 2010. Services continue to be stripped to the bone, privatised or stopped all

together.

4. All this will continue unless we act now The government and employers will continue to cut your pay and conditions. Thousands of jobs will continue to go. Services the public need will continue to be decimated. We are the 7th richest economy in the world. These cuts aren’t necessary!

5. Our claim for a minimum of £1 an hour for all is affordable Political choices can and should be made. Councils are banking savings made from cuts to jobs and pay instead of rewarding hardworking staff. The government claims it has protected schools budgets. Better paid local government workers would bring more money into government through extra tax, national insurance and reduced in work benefits. This would pay for 55% of our claim and government could pass it on to councils. #njcpay 2014
