your selfie ! TOWIE star Lewis Bloor tells us about this snap with Piers Morgan…
Hi Lewis! What is the story behind this snap? We went to see Eddie The Eagle, which was a fantastic film. I took my best pal Joe Jordan with me and Kat Shoob, a friend of mine. We were there in the queue and Piers Morgan was in front of us. I went, “Come on then, let’s get a picture.” What was he like? He was very charming. Obviously it was on the red carpet so there was lots going on and we didn’t stop for long, but Kat put it on Twitter and he retweeted it, the geezer! We must have made a good impression.
Did he know who you were? No idea. I didn’t ask him! I had a different style haircut, so I was going a bit incognito. We were going to ask about the new look… Well, I’ve gone back to the old way now because everyone around here thinks it’s like Justin Bieber. Do you like going to premieres? I love it. The best thing about it is being able to extend the invitation to my friends and family. Have you ever met a celebrity who has disappointed you? Coming from TV, I learn not to judge purely from what you see on the screen. Who’s the best celeb you’ve had a selfie with? It’s got to be Jeremy Piven, who plays Ari Gold in Entourage. I’ve met him twice and he’s very cool. What do you think of selfies generally? There’s a fine balance. Some people become so involved in social media that they miss what’s going on around them. I’ve been told I need to take more, but we’ll see.

Why aren’t you so active on social media? I come from working in the city – and on the trading floors we weren’t allowed our phones. I’m not someone who’s attached to my phone 24/7. How many pictures do you take before you post a selfie? By the time you’re three selfies deep, you’ve sort of just got to pick one and stick with it. Do you edit your photos? Filters are lifesavers! When you put one on you can look like you just stepped off the beach in Barbados, but in the real world you look like Casper the Ghost. Have you ever taken a selfie you regretted? I took a picture in the changing room next to my mate Jake McLean – Lauren Goodger’s boyfriend – and there’s a guy bending over with his bum out in the background! Everyone was just cracking up because this poor geezer’s arse ended up all over Instagram. Do you read the comments under your pics? Never. I literally don’t pay a blind bit of notice.
