24th April 2017 Dear Parent / Carer, I am writing to inform you that all year 9 students will be sitting tests starting 8th May 2017. Most exams will be held in the main hall and some subjects will be holding their exams in classrooms during lesson time. Please see timetable attached. The purpose of the exams is to measure the progress that the pupils have made this year as well as give students the experience of sitting exams in the main hall, which will help prepare them for in a few years’ time when they will be sitting their GCSE exams. Subject areas will communicate the content of the individual tests with the pupils so that they can revise at home. It is vital that all students have the appropriate equipment and we would appreciate your support in encouraging your child to prepare for the tests. Please reassure your child that the exams are nothing to worry about as well as encouraging them to try their best. Thank you in advance.
