Major League Rules 50/70 1. All games will be six innings, with time limit of 1 hour and 30 minutes. Clock should be set to 80 minutes. No inning will start after time has expired (80 minutes). If the game is tied at the end of the time limit, the game will end in a tie (playoffs excluded). If the game is tied before the end of the 80 minutes, a new inning can be started. A new inning starts when the final out is recorded in the bottom of the inning. 2. Maximum 5 runs per inning, including the final inning. 3. 10 run rule after 4 innings, 3 ½ innings if the Home Team is winning, in all games (including the Playoffs). 4. 50’ mound – 70’ bases 5. All teams must roster bat, however only play nine in the field. Teams playing with 9 fielders must play with 3 outfielders. Outfielders must be on the grass. 6. You must have eight players to start game. Players coming late will be added to the end of the order. 7. Dropped third strike and balks: Games Before May 15th -Batter may NOT run on a dropped third strike. -Balks will be called but the baserunners will NOT advance. Games ON or AFTER May 16th -Batter may run on a dropped third strike. -Balks will be called. Each pitcher will be given one warning-runner does not advance. Additional balks by the same pitcher will result in a base awarded to the baserunners. 8. Stealing all bases is allowed. Runners may lead off. No delayed stealing. Once momentum has stopped, the runner must return to the initial base. If a team is winning by 6 or more runs, there will be not stealing or advancing on a passed ball by that team. Stealing can resume if the losing team trails by less than 6. 9. Free substitution will be used throughout the game for every position other than the pitching position. (must abide by Rule 10) 10. Once pitcher is removed from the pitcher’s position, they may not re-enter the game and pitch again. 11. Five warm-up pitches between innings and between pitchers.

12. Hit-By-Pitch: If a single pitcher beans 3 batters, he must be replaced by another pitcher. This does not have to occur in the same inning. 13. SEE BELOW FOR PITCH COUNT RULES. 12. Players MUST slide into all bases, except 1st base, if a play is being made. Sliding feet first is required with the exception of sliding back into a base on a pickoff attempt. It is the umpire’s decision to rule the runner out if the player should have slid. 13. Fake bunting is allowed. However, fake bunting and then swinging is NOT allowed and the batter will be called out. No warnings will be given. 14. Courtesy runners must be used for catchers with two outs. Courtesy runner for the catcher can be used at any time to encourage faster play. Courtesy runners will be the last out recorded in that inning. 15. Maximum bat diameter: 2-1/4”. 16. Infield fly rule DOES apply in the Majors. 17. NO intentional walks are allowed. If the umpire determines a batter was walked intentional (umpires decision stands), the batter walked plus the following batter will be awarded a base. Additional Requests & Info 1. Home Team gets the 3rd base dugout. 2. Home Team is responsible for diamond prep before the first game and diamond cleanup after the last game. 3. Visitor Team gets the 1st base dugout. 4. Visitor Team is responsible for concessions. 5. Please have players hustle on and off the field. 6. Please have your team clean the dugout after each game (i.e. water bottles, gum wrappers, etc.). 7. Our umpires are paid for their service, however be respectful of their efforts. Coaches are responsible for player, parent and fan behavior. 8. Player’s unsportsmanlike conduct is subject to ejection from the game (and future games) upon the umpire’s discretion. 9. Coach / Parent unsportsmanlike conduct is subject to ejection from the park. 10. No player should sit out two consecutive innings. 11. Both teams will provide 1 new game ball for each game. 12 game balls will be given to each coach at the beginning of the year.

Pitch Count Rules (11-12 Year Olds – Major League) All pitchers are limited to 6 outs per game and 9 outs per calendar week. All pitchers are subject to the pitch count guidelines listed below. Maximum 40 pitches per game. Pitcher is allowed to finish a batter. Maximum 60 pitches per week. Pitcher is allowed to finish a batter. 11 Year Old Pitching Requirements Game of 5 or more innings:

Minimum combined 6 outs or 40 pitches.

Maximum individual 6 outs or 40 pitches. Pitcher may exceed limit to finish out a batter. Game limited to 3.5 or 4 innings: 12 Year Old Pitching Requirements Game of 5 or more innings:

Minimum combined 3 outs or 20 pitches. Minimum combined 6 outs or 40 pitches. Maximum individual 6 outs or 40 pitches. Pitcher may exceed limit to finish out a batter. Minimum combined 3 outs or 20 pitches.

Maximum pitches per game is 40. Pitcher is allowed to finish a batter and exceed 40 pitches if they started the batter with fewer than 40 pitches. If a pitcher exceeds 40 pitches by finishing out a batter, they will need 2 day’s rest. Pitch counts may be adjusted by the league for double headers or weeks with make-up games scheduled. This must be pre-approved by the league Directors.
