Youth & Education Our youth are the future of the church. Without them who will carry on the message of God’s love and salvation? Good educational programs and activities are therefore of prime importance in nurturing our children and youth to grow into active and faithful Christians. Additional help in the form of teachers, leaders and helpers is always needed and greatly appreciated. If you like working with children and youth, opportunities in one of the Confirmation following areas may be This class is open 5th, 6th , 7th and your calling. 8th graders and their parents. Basic Christian education is taught including the sacraments of baptism and communion, the 10 commandments, Confirmation the apostles creed and other key parts (5th-6th) of scripture. The class is taught by Pastor Easterling. Helpers may be Sr. High Youth needed from time to time. (7th-12th)

Family Fun Nights (3 years to 11 years) Sunday School (Pre-K -12th)

Meets: As Needed Time: To Be Determined

Sr. High Youth (7th-12th) This group of Jr. and Sr. High youth gather at 6:00 pm on Wednesday each week for bible study. During the year there are lock-ins, parties, mission trips, servant events and social activities.

Sunday School (Pre-K -12th) Sunday School classes are held for age groups ranging from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade. Teachers, leaders and helpers are always needed in the various age groups including teachers for Jr. High and Sr. High classes. If you enjoy working with a particular age group and would like to be a part of this educational ministry, guiding our young people in learning about God’s word, please let us know. Our Sunday school director could also use some help from time to time. If you have experience in this area, and would be interested in assisting her, please let her know. Family Fun Time Here at Redeemer Family Fun Night is held once in the Summer and once in the Fall. The purpose is to have fun and build relationships with other families that have young children. The Summer event is centered around WATER. We rent an inflatable water slide and have wadding pools for the small children. We have water balloon toss and other water games. The event begins with a pizza dinner for all. Snacks and juice drinks are provided throughout the event. In the Fall we have a HARVEST FEST at the Mountain Home Berry Farm. This event starts with a pizza dinner at the church. Volunteers are needed at each event to help in the following areas: Helping families with the activities

Scholarships

Food preparation and clean up

Scholarships are available to our young people

Leading families in indoor or outdoor games

seeking to further their education. Scholarships consist of contributions made through special gifts and/or memorials from congregational members.

Prize selection and distribution

Scholarships are available for those going to vocational schools, state colleges, parochial colleges, and many more. You do NOT need to be going into church work to qualify.

To be eligible for scholarship consideration the applicant must be an active, communicant member and attend church on a regular basis. The Scholarship Committee shall also consider any extenuating circumstances of students involving their need for assistance other than outlined in the Rules and Regulations. Consideration may be given in the event of special circumstances, i.e. car repairs, etc.
