2015 SUMMER SPORTS CAMPS Summer Youth Soccer Camp •







Directed by CBU Men’s Soccer head coach Gregg Schroeder, assistant coach Dylan Martinez and goalkeeeper coach Jeff Redinger. Additional staffing will include members of the men’s and women’s collegiate soccer teams. Campers receive encouraging, personalized instruction from the coaching staff while building confidence, developing soccer skills and a camp t-shirt. Campers learn and improve proper techniques of passing, receiving, dribbling, heading and shooting. For optimal learning, campers will be split into appropriate age and skill level groups. Camp will be held on the CBU campus. Players bring their own bag lunch. Swim time is supervised by certified lifeguards and coaching staff.

About the Coaches Head coach Gregg Schroeder is experienced as a former professional soccer player in North Carolina with the United Soccer League’s Charlotte Eagles, and overseas in Sweden with Ytterby IS. He encompasses over 11 years of successful youth and collegiate coaching experience. He served as assistant coach at CBU for three years before taking over the reins for the program in 2013. In his first year at the helm of the Lancers, he led CBU to its first-ever NCAA Division II Championship Tournament appearance. Prior to his professional experience, he was a four-year starting defender for Westmont College, during which he was named to the all-conference team, all-region team, team captain and defensive MVP. He is also an experienced coach with children, serving as an instructor for “Soccer Shots,” providing fun instruction to preschoolers in Charlotte, N.C., prior to launching his own franchise five years ago in Riverside. Prior to CBU, he served as an assistant coach for the Westmont College women’s program where he helped them to the national tournament round of 16. He has directed and instructed camps and clinics internationally in over 10 countries. Dylan Martinez is in his third season with the Lancers after coaching stints with both Iowa State and Central College. He also served as Camp Director for the Southern California Seahorses and is currently the Vice President and Camp Director of Clean Water Soccer non-profit organization. He also has coaching experience at youth club and high school levels with Ames Soccer Club and Ames HS, and La Mirada HS serving all ages of youth, freshman, JV, and Varsity teams. Martinez played professionally in the Bolivian Premier League with La Paz F.C. and four seasons with the Seahorses in the Premier Development League. As a Seahorse he was named to the USL National Team of the Week.
