Dear Parents / Annwyl Rhieni, What a busy week we have had in Cefn Meiriadog! Next week certainly looks very similar with a sponsored walk, Macmillan cake sale, cross country competition and the annual meeting of the P.T.A. I am looking forward to seeing some new faces in this meeting and can’t emphasise enough the important work they do in providing and supporting the school with resources and activities throughout the academic year. Can I take this opportunity to say a sincere thank you to the outgoing committee for all their hard work last year. Beth mae prysur yr wythnos a gawsom yng Nghefn Meiriadog! Attendance Well done to Class two who were this weeks’ attendance winners with 100%. We had an overall whole school percentage of 97.6%. Well done to you all, we are in the green!
High Flying Hero Awards Congratulations to Zach, Pheobe, Casey, Alex, Poppy, Jessica and Matilda. Achievers Well done to Glesni, Freddie and Keira for Maths, Joshua for gymnastics and to Maisie for getting a part in the Pavilion Theatre pantomime.

Sponsored Walk and Macmillan Cake Sale
On Friday 25th September the children and staff will be walking around Marli, to raise money for valuable school resources. The children will require a packed lunch. Please ensure your child has the appropriate walking shoes and light raincoat. They may wear their own clothes for a cake donation as we will be holding a Tea, coffee and cakes afternoon at 3.20 pm to raise money for Macmillan Cancer. Cake donations will be gratefully received on the day. Thank you.
Through the Window! The role play area now has a beautiful window which Reception and Year One have made. They have used different types of tissue paper and painted areas, as well as material to create a life like replica of a kitchen window. Nursery will learn the sound, ‘s’ and the colour green next week. On Wednesday the children will be going to the woods, please ensure they all have coats and wellies. They will be learning about keeping fit and healthy.
Global Gourmet All the children in Years 2 and 3 worked extremely hard this week on their half term topic, ‘Global Gourmet.’ They researched the topic of foods and created a piece of writing on the subject. In Science they will be investigating how we grow and how we keep healthy. Well done all!
Cross Country On Wednesday 23rd September some of the children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 will be taking part in the Vale Cross Country competition in Ruthin Tennis Club. Your child will have been informed if they are taking part and will need to be there for 4pm with a sports kit, trainers, water bottle and waterproof coat. For further details please see Mr Davies.
Friends of Ysgol Cefn Meiriadog Meeting – PTA On Tuesday 22nd September there will be an Annual General Meeting of the PTA. We are looking for volunteers to help run this much needed organisation, which provides vital support with resources throughout the year. So please come along, everyone is welcome. Your school needs you!
Gymnastics Gymnastics after school club on a Tuesday is now being offered to the Year Two children. There are still several places left. Could I remind parents that it is £3 a session and Miss Tami would prefer termly payments made payable to ‘Denbigh Gymnastics Club’ if possible. Thank you. Eco School Council
