10/5/94 Mr. Whitlock 1232 Oriole Place Port Coquitlam Victoria British Columbia Canada V3b 5K5 Dear Peter, Enclosed is an extract :l.Tomthe International Genealogy Index for the children of Joshua Whitlock. The extract shows that there were two different mothers for the children. The mother of Thomas (1836) is shown as Elizabeth, while the mother of the following children is shown as Harriet. This coupled with a statement :l.TomJulie Whitlock, that she has been told of a marriage for Joseph dated 1837, leaves me to suspect that the mother of AI:I.TedWhitlock was not Harriet Clarke, but probably Elizabeth. From his marriage certificates, his probable birth year is 1834, so he would only have been 3 years old at the time of the marriage and would not have known any other mother. At this time I am not proposing any changes to the data base, as I feel that this information requires confirmation, and am only raising the probability.
