Peter Whitlock Whitlock Family Association 1232 Oriole Place Port Coquitlam, B.C. CANADA V3B 5K5 Dear Mr. Whitlock: I have been researching my family (in all directions) for about a year now. My grandmother (age 88) is especially anxious that I find more information on her family. Her maiden name was Whitelock. She grew up in New York, but the Whitelock family was originally from Maryland. Another researcher suggested I contact you as a possible source for information on this family. She also suggested that I might be interested in joining the association - which if it does include the Whitelock surname - I definitely would. My grandmother was born in Nassau County in 1908, the only child of Charles Frederick Whitelock and Mary Wood. They lived in Jamaica, where he was a RR condudor. His parents were Frederick Charles Whitelock (b. 1845) and Ann Bernard, both of Maryland (b. 1848). They had five children, Willard (Nov 1868), Nettie (1871), Bertha (1873), Charles Frederick (1877) and Anna (1887). ~ Willard ended up in Carbondale PA, married to a Cornell __ Nettie married James STOVER, lived in NY. Bertha never married. Charles (see above) Anna married a Jack Whitelock. This is mainly from my grandmother, locates some of them, etc.

with some census data, which
Frederick Whitelock was a railroad engineer and built a section of the Baltimore and Ohio railroad. The family moved from PA to NY and back again many times during his career. I am currently looking for the parent of Fred and Ann. I believe that Fred's father may have been John, as this is the only census data I've found with a child Frederick. This John lived in Cecil County Maryland, which is not suprising as there are many Whitelocks in this area. The John I have found would have been born in 1815, his wife was named Mary and their Fred has two siblings, Harriet and Rebecca. Both John and Mary died before 1860. Right now I have no way of proving this is the right family. John was also born in Maryland.
Frederick and Ann retired to Havre de Grace Maryland and are buried in a cemetery there. I wrote to the cemetery some time ago, but have not yet had a response. Sorry for going on like this, I have many family stories and would really like to find this family soon, for the sake of my grandmother. I would greatly appreciate any help you can give me and I would be very interested on information about the association. My address is :
