This is a fantastic amount that will help refugees who are currently struggling around the world. The soft toys were all wonderful and we are sure they will bring a smile to the recipients. We would also like to say thank you to the parents who kindly came in to organise and laminate labels. There are some pictures of the huge collection of soft toys on our website. Please go to www.northwickmanorprimary.co.uk, ‘class pages’ and then ‘whole school’.
PUDSEY We all had a very exciting day meeting Pudsey and raising money for Children in Need. A big thanks to year four children and parents who donated and sold cakes. They were a big hit with the children. There are some lovely pictures on our website. Please go to www.northwickmanorprimary.co.uk, ‘class pages’ and then ‘whole school’. Pudsey collected our money on the day so we will let you know how much we collected once they have let us know. Please remember we will still be holding a non-uniform day on Friday 13th November. You do not need to bring additional donations. COMPUTER PROGRAMMING Last year the Government revised the teaching curriculum. IT (Information Technology) was renamed and became Computing and the focus of topics have changed dramatically. A greater emphasis has been placed on teaching computer programming. We were pleased that as a school we have always addressed this area using BeeBots, Moving Lego Models, Scratch (this is a piece of free software which you can download) and Flowal and Terry the Turtle. To support children at all levels we have purchased the Discovery Code software. This can be used online at home and I am sure adults and children alike will enjoy exploring and creating their own games. So, to all you budding games creators, logon and show us what you can do.
