Millan – Izzy Independence Charlotte – Chloe Communication Chair of Governors At the meeting of the School’s Governing Body last week, John Beardsmore was elected as Chair of Governors on the resignation of his predecessor Ed Boakes. John Mabey (Chair of the Resources Committee) was elected Vice -Chair. This is the second time Mr Beardsmore has held this post and before joining Lee Common School he was Chair of Governors in a large Secondary School. He has worked all his life in education and was formerly an Ofsted Inspector of Schools. John Beardsmore said: “I look forward to working with the headteacher, staff and parents, as well as with the local community, as we build on the success of this delightful school.” Year 1 & Year 2 Only - Remembrance – Friday 11th November Our Year 1 and Year 2 children will be visiting the war memorial on the green tomorrow (Friday 11 November) at 10:45am for Remembrance. They will be laying poppies which they have made. This visit will be led by Mrs Debono.

The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal If you would like to make a donation, our poppies and donation box are in the school foyer. In addition, there are further poppy accessories ie: rubbers, wristbands, hair clips etc. Please see the full list and suggested donation enclosed. These items will be kept in the school office. Wrens Babies Project Many of our Wrens children are very curious about babies. We are therefore starting a miniproject on babies starting tomorrow afternoon. Wrens children may bring in photos of babies and/or baby accessories (real or play items) for tomorrow afternoon. Breakfast Club Our Breakfast Club runs on a daily basis from 8am until 8.45am throughout term time. If you would like your child to attend, please complete the booking form attached – www.leecommon.org/parents. Forthcoming Dates Please keep up to date with forthcoming diary dates which can be found on our website – www.leecommon.org under the Calendar tab. Yours sincerely Mr J Edwards Headteacher LCSA NEWS CHRISTMAS FAIR VOLUNTEER CHART Volunteers are needed for an assortment of roles at the Christmas Fair on 3rd December from 12-4. There will be a volunteer chart at the school from Friday morning listing the various stalls/jobs that need covering. If you have already volunteered, but are yet to be allocated a job, or time slot, please pop your name down on your preferred job and state the time you are willing to volunteer. If you are yet to volunteer, please come in and have a look at how you can help. The more hands on deck the better! BARBECUE NEEDED Does anyone own a large barbecue for us to use at the Christmas fair? We have enough volunteers to run the barbecue. We know where to source the meat etc. However, we are still yet to find a barbecue! 1 large, or 2 medium barbecues should do. If you can help, please email me at [email protected] DONATIONS WEEK/RAFFLE TICKETS As you are bound to be aware by now, it is donations week next week. Please give as generously as you can. Flyers have been put in book bags. Also, please don't forget to SELL, SELL, SELL the raffle tickets. We have some wonderful prizes inc. family days out, meals out, champagne, vouchers etc. etc... A full list of the fabulous prizes will be mailed out next week. POSTPONEMENT OF FILM NIGHT The children's film night planned for Dec 16th is being postponed until the new year.
