Mia Gordon-Trauberman also brought in her amazing shadow puppets which she’d made at home, showing us all that learning doesn’t stop at the school gate – well done Mia! PTA CHRISTMAS FAIR SUCCESS! Thank you and well done to our wonderful PTA for organising another lovely festive Christmas Fair, and raising over £350 profit. The PTA funds extras for our pupils, such as our wonderful trip to the pantomime in Cheltenham this week – oh yes it did! All parents are welcome to come along and get involved in PTA fundraising activities: meetings are always announced in this newsletter. PANTO Talking of the panto, I’d like to thank all our helpers who came along, shouted and sang along to all the songs on Wednesday afternoon. It made the trip very special and another wonderful Christmas treat for everyone. A particular thanks to: Michelle Thevenin, Tasha Goddard, Anna O’Gara, Mary Inder, Jon Cicuttin, Sarah Screen, Gia Nayak, Carol Wilkins, Suli Kilian-Carter, Sarah Teal, Janine Lewis, Ali Watkins, Lisa Mant, Lisa Smith, Lloyd Williams, Katy O’Connell and Caroline Cairns. CHRISTMAS PERFORMANCE To remind you: our whole school Christmas production, ‘Children of the World’ is on Tuesday 16th December. The two shows are at 2.00pm and 6.00pm, at the All Saints Church in Uplands. Everyone is welcome to come to either show. Children should be back at church for the evening show at 5.45pm in their costumes please. CHRISTMAS LUNCH On Wednesday 17th December the children will be enjoying a special Christmas roast dinner, along with crackers and hats. Expect cheesy jokes all the way home on Wednesday! CAROLS AT LOCAL CARE HOMES Over the last couple of weeks, children from Kestrels and Eagles classes have visited Uplands Care Home and Northfield House to sing carols and Christmas songs to the residents. As you’d expect, they were ambassadors for our school and sung beautifully, impressing everyone who heard them. PGL 2015 If your Eagles child is off to Beam House with PGL in June, please ensure any outstanding payments are made to the office as soon as possible as the deadline for the second instalment was today.

[email protected] PLEASE DRIVE CAREFULLY!!! The roads around school get very busy at pick-up and drop-off times. Please be careful when parking, especially around low kerbs, and drive with extra care down Thompson Rd. Also, please make sure that children are well versed in safely crossing roads as it can be tricky crossing between parked cars. LAST DAY OF SCHOOL Friday 19th December is our last day of term: School Council have asked that all pupils wear Christmas jumpers to school as non-uniform, and donate £1 to the current nominated charity, Uplands Playgroup. We are finishing the term with our tradition of carols around the tree – this year with the addition of mulled wine and mince pies! Do join us for a bit of festive cheer (Christmas jumpers welcome) before heading off for the holidays: carols at 1.15pm, then school finishes at 2pm. Term 3 begins on Monday 5th January 2015 at 8.55am. Yours sincerely
Richard Lucas Head Teacher
